A few people are copy and pasting the email from Ankush, but "wordpressmint" aka Ankush posted here too... https://appsumo.com/products/deep-word/questions/hello-everyone-this-is-ankush-from-de-957503/ An Appsumo Plus member himself no less - "wordpressmint | Deals Bought: 1174 | Member Since: 09/10/18" I went all in this with, tier 5 @ $299 even though I had no use for it, I figured if they could keep improving the product over the next couple of years. I might find a use for it at some point, by the time I'd "broken even" against their advertised monthly costs (20 months x $15 = $300). So, rather than the advertised $15 a month on their website, looks like this ended up costing me $100 a month and I never ended up getting any real use from it beyond a few minutes playing with it when I created my account! Alas, I see Caitlin Hempstead updated this page to say that the AppSumo team are trying to find a resolution to this. Hopefully that means they're withholding payment to Ankush / Deepword / his business and refunding everybody, but I guess we'll see what happens in due course... What I cannot understand is why the deepword.co website still looks to be carrying, business as usual and happily allowing people to signup for paid plans?

Wordpressmint is not the owner of deepword. Sorry for the confusion with post. I should have clearly noted that I copied and pasted the email received from company owner.

    Hey David,
I've bough the absolute full tier, because i saw their potential, but yes... I would love to get in contact with the support, too - to not be forgotten "because I did not have said anything" ... what you've been writing to whom - did you write to "support@appsumo.com" for that?

I'm totally with you on this. I also went all in on this and also cannot see how the founder didn't have clear knowledge of his intent to shut down the business in such a short period of time. There are two explanations in my view:

    A) the company was on an existing path to shut down and put out the appsumo deal with no intent of serving it's squired customers long term and simply pulled a last ditch revenue grab opportunity with little or no intent to serve the resulting customers.

    B) the company vastly miscalculated the operational costs of serving the customers it would acquire through this LTD and had absolutely no supporting operational revenue plan or sustainable finding to further develop its scaled revenue model to sustainably support its customer base.

Either way, this is very shoddy business practice and probably questionably legally in selling a product with no intent or capability of providing the advertised service for any reasonable amount of time that justifies the positioning and sale of a LTD.

Where I'm at now on this as an appsumo fan and repeat customer is that I really do expect a full refund on this purchase.

I hope the appsumo team can support and refund the affected valued customers who have been stung by this deal.
