Bait and switch

Marcos promised all future upgrades and that no ai models would be locked behind pay walls etc. Then later did just that and tried to spin it. Eventually, gave up and pretended to be a victim and rolled out byok, but still pushes subscriptions and upsells. Has people actively scouting in discord to upsell. Then puts out these features on appsumo and despite having tier 10 says I wont have these features to buy it all over again. Just outrageous. Thats what you get if you buy this. Dude takes your money, lies, and then tries to upsell you on things supposed to be Included, and or make you buy all over again with no upgrade path. Making each generation of buyer a sucker.

BUYER BEWARE!!

I purchased tier 4 of Followr ($276), but the AI features are locked in my account, and it's asking me to sign up for a monthly subscription. Yet another major financial loss from buying off Appsumo. They take our money, build features with it, and then lock us out. I could have instead spent that money to purchase a couple of years' worth of a popular mainstream tool loaded with all the latest features that Followr can only dream of, and supported an actual legitimate trustworthy founder who doesn't use such tactics. My response to the founder's reply of adding ai studio aka "features":

I think you're missing the core issue.

You're focusing on whether Followr Studio is technically a "separate product," while completely ignoring the expectations created by the AppSumo deal itself.

The AppSumo listing states:

"All future Agency Plan updates."

"Previous AppSumo customers will be grandfathered into any new features and feature limits."

As a Tier 4 customer who invested $276 into Followr, I believe those statements reasonably create the expectation that early supporters will benefit from major future platform innovations.

Instead, I log in and see AI Avatars, Avatar Videos, AI Images, AI Videos, AI Viral Shorts, and other prominent AI capabilities displayed throughout the ecosystem, only to discover they require another purchase or subscription.

You keep repeating that these features belong to a "separate product," but from a customer perspective that distinction feels largely semantic. If every significant future capability can simply be placed under a new brand name and sold separately, then what practical value do promises such as "grandfathered into any new features" actually provide?

To be clear, my concern is not that features I previously had access to were removed. My concern is that early supporters helped fund the growth of the platform with the understanding that they would participate in its future development, yet some of the most significant new AI functionality is now being monetized separately.

You are free to disagree with that interpretation, but I believe it is a fair concern for AppSumo buyers evaluating the long-term value of a lifetime deal.

I think there may be some confusion here.

The Tier 4 deal you purchased never included the Followr Studio features shown in your video. Followr Studio is a separate product that we are preparing to launch as its own LTD on AppSumo this week.

From Good to Better and moving to Best

I am a Tier 10 early adopter from first launch,
Marcos and the team have evolved this platform into a really robust platform – I have been part of the evolvement. Marcos is responsive as well.
It is clear they are committed, and passionate...also business savvy - a capability I love seeing in a founder.
Marcos has clearly identified that the AI creative is lacking, however, without shutting the platform or LTD, he has communicated this with a long-term solution of Followr creative, an integrated bolt on - that considers early adopters. For that Marcos you get extra topping on your taco!
As someone that needs a tight white label, this is an area of constant development. The hiding menu options are a half solution.
I would love to see custom user profiles that we can create and apply when onboarding a user to a company set.
Would also love to have Followr Plus and Straico hidden, where if the user wants more advanced AI engines, the CTA button will email this interest to the agency billing email, and we can discuss, bill and activate our end, specifically apply to the user. We get billed directly from Followr for the annual amount. Nice and simple value add we can confidently communicate to our users.
Not sure how Followr Creative will work and may make the last point redundant.

RSS feeds to link directly to our blog – other content sources (this will eliminate me using another platform just for this one feature.)

I noted everything you mentioned regarding white-label improvements, custom user profiles, permissions, hidden AI upgrade flows, and agency-side billing/activation workflows. That kind of feedback is extremely valuable...

It's not worth it

To get decent text and images, you have to pay an extra 10. They still use GPT-4 for text and Nano Banana 2 in most plans, and even though they bring their own API key, you still get a charge...

We’d like to clarify how our system works: with BYOK (Bring Your Own API Key), the credits deducted are your own — not an additional charge from us. This is necessary to manage processing in a controlled way; otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to sustain the infrastructure.

Stay Clear of this

I agree with all comments posted regarding the stay away. This started as a cheap simple Ltd that was perfect for what it was.
Now it’s just illusions of grandeur of a founder that wants to be Canva and a top tier product that fails to deliver where everything is priced 10x than the (insert AI model here) to build their full stack.
Wish it wasn’t too late for a refund.
