Knowtworthy Review: Not ready for prime time

I like the idea. I purchased Tier 3. The experience is NOT intuitive. The online help is lacking. There are bugs in the program. When you create a new "team" it automatically creates a group for "actions items." When you delete a team, the group for action items is left behind. You can't rename a team and trying to create a meeting with transcription enabled is confusing. When you create a meeting from the dashboard, it says transcription is disabled unless you create a meeting from the "organization." Which is confusing, because the only way to create a transcription enable meeting is to go to the team view and create a meeting from the team's dashboard. Also, if you're interested in joining the "community," presumably to participate in the forum, you're given a login screen but no way to register - even though the invitation email says you can register. I'm going to give them a chance to respond to my email support requests, but this is far from ready for prime time. I'm certainly not ready to have my teammates join. They're going to be confused as hell.

    First off - we appreciate your honest review! We care a lot about everyone's experience, so I'll spend a bit of time elaborating on each of your points and hopefully clear up a few things:

    First, when it comes to an intuitive experience, did you feel that the initial tour didn't explain enough about the app, or that even after the tour you still had issues figuring out what certain features did? We have a number of 'getting started' resources on our Guide page ( https://knowtworthy.com/guide/tag/getting-started/ ) but if there are any other resources you'd like to see, please let us know! User onboarding is critical and we'll make it a priority to improve.

    Next, the bug you pointed out is quite problematic and I have gone ahead and created an issue for it on our public Trello roadmap so that you can track its progress. I noticed that you are already on the board, but I just want to note that we added the ability to vote on issues/features on Trello, so by clicking on the card and pressing 'Vote' in the actions you can help us assign priority to features in the future as well.

    Next, there are different places in Knowtworthy from where you can create meetings. Purchasing an AppSumo license gives you access to an organization with certain features, but every user also has access to a 'My Meetings' section in the navigation bar which allows you to create meetings you don't want to have associated with any organization. We don't enable transcription capability in 'My Meetings' because of the way licensing works and the complexity and confusion this adds when a single user is a part of, or an admin of, multiple organizations at once. So simply put, if you are creating a meeting that needs transcription, that meeting should be created within an organization.

    As for our Community page, we encountered some issues with bots and malicious accounts signing up and posting spam recently, so we had to close down sign-ups until we could get better moderation tools in place. I have invited you personally to join, but I also re-opened sign-ups to everyone since we were able to get some moderation rules in place. The community page is a great place to ask questions and suggest features and we look forward to hearing from you there!

    Okay. Customer support has been better than most. If I knew how to adjust my rating I would. I'd add another star. There are still a number of creature comforts that need improving. I know those fixes are in the pipeline. I'm just a bit surprised that the team released the product so soon. I'll be patient.

    Here's the stuff that's been fixed:
    1. If you delete a team, the other elements update as expected. However, you still can't rename a team.
    2. The community is back open and active. That's very helpful. The team is monitoring support tickets and community feedback to put items on the roadmap / Trello board.

    As more progress is made, I'll update my response.

You're right that it is still early days for Knowtworthy, but we released when we did because we wanted our end users to be a part of the process for creating the perfect meeting solution. We're doing our best to develop creature-comfort features alongside new requests from users to round out a great experience. I appreciate you voting on the features you want to see on our roadmap though! This engagement helps us prioritize what users want to see, and the perks of a having a lifetime license means that you'll always be able to access the new stuff that comes out, so thanks!

    Dear Bradely,
    I can concur with your analysis.
    Had similar experience and could not even get a single word of the transcript documented. All disappeared in thin air. Might have been a user (me) error, but such an app should be made foolproof and anticipate user errors if any.
