Q: Add-on credits costs & duplicate words
How much do the add-on credits cost? I understand buying credits is the only way to continue creating new translations once your fixed number of translation words is exhausted. Also, could you please give an estimate of what percentage of words end up being duplicate words that will not count as duplicate translations? Thank you!

Sep 12, 2025A: Add-on credits cost $50 per 50,000 words, and you can purchase them directly from your dashboard once your limit is reached.
Regarding duplicates: MultiLipi translates by blocks/lines, not word-by-word. Once a block is translated, it’s stored in Translation Memory and reused wherever it appears, so it won’t consume credits again. The percentage of duplicates varies by site type — for blogs it’s often around 30–45%, while for e-commerce or LMS sites with repeated product descriptions, menus, or UI elements, it can be much higher.
Thank you! I remember from other FAQs that the repeated words meant for example "The" would be translated once and then become memory without the need of anymore translations. Has this policy changed to lines/blocks now? This change is substantial and would affect the number of fixed translated words. "The" shouldn't be translated thousands of times in a couple of articles, for example. Thank you!

We’ve always translated at the block/line level, not single words, because word-by-word translation would lose context and sound unnatural. By doing this, we ensure accuracy and fluency. Once a block or phrase is translated, it’s stored in Translation Memory and reused anywhere it appears on your site. So repeated words like “The” won’t be re-translated thousands of times — they’ll only be counted
Thank you!
