Octolens Reviews

I was super pleased to see a tool like Octolens on AS. I recently attended a growth hacking event, and one of the strategies shared was exactly this - social listening. There was a tool mentioned but pretty pricey per month, especially for a solopreneur like myself, so finding an alternative on AS is awesome. Sign up was easy enough, and onboarding is straight-forward: you enter a website, Octolens analyzes and comes up with suggested keywords to follow (reminds me a bit of Marky.AI). You can edit/update your business info later on. You can select the platforms to listen to globally or tailor for each individual keyword. There will probably be a period of trial and error for every user, as you figure out what keywords you want to listen for, as well as what platforms and using modifiers to hone in on relevant messages. For myself (someone that does not like to spend time scrolling on social media) Octolens is awesome because the only posts I'm checking out will be relevant to my business. I've already been able to add a few followers on X (want to give a nod to Jenny Jones - Digital Hacks Club on YT for the crock pot video using Octolens). I'm hoping the Octolens team gives API access to its LTD users so that we can create all kinds of automations. Since there is a lot of discussion about keyword limits and mentions in questions, you can be more efficient with your allocated monthly mentions by playing around with the filters - which is why you should expect a trial and error period. (One keyword I set up, posts that I made came up, so mentions were burned, realized I had to add a filter to exclude myself as an author. Also adding other terms to a main term - if you're listening for CRM (a really broad term), maybe add a filter ALTERNATIVE to show only posts that include both CRM AND ALTERNATIVE). Obviously, adding more social media channels would make this product more stellar (not sure how feasible it is from an operational perspective). If you're on the fence about Octolens, definitely give it a shot (I'd suggest at least Tier 2), and I look forward to this tool maturing even more in the coming weeks and months.

I really love this product, but it hardly ever works.

Most of the time i try to use it, I am being told that the site can't be reached. I don't understand why this keeps happening. With all the other tools I have gotten here, this never happens.

If this issue can be solved for me, I would definitely give this product a 5 star review.

At this point, I am thinking of asking for a refund.

I wasn't sure at all if it would be useful for my case.

I checked with a few keywords related to subjects I write about (affiliate marketing products) and other keywords related to a Saas I have but that I cannot rank on google because all the keywords are already dominated by websites of DA 90+ on google search.

It gave me a few mentions here and there, I engage as a third person, "I know such and such website that does this service, etc etc". Free ads and redirection to your app of product!

I consider extending the outreach somehow, not really in a B2B mindset, and this app can be used for whatever purpose to monitor social medias. If it had TikTok, Instagram and Facebook it would be a killer (for aff marketers, promoters, possibly B2C).

The product works, there aren't bugs and you get real time high intent leads delivered to your email without you doing a thing. How good is that? Seriously...think about this....how...good.. is that? You don't have to pay for ads, you don't have to create additional content, you don't have to cold call strangers, you don't have to spend hours reading linkedin posts....In literally less than 2 minutes, you can set up your keywords, it finds prospects who are actively talking about what you sell or commenting about what you could potentially sell and sends those conversations straight to your inbox on a silver platter. The cherry on top? I don't even have to read through each comment or conversation to figure out which ones are the most relevant... A.I. DOES IT FOR YOU! My only wish is that there were more keywords, 10 is a limited number compared to other deals. If there is some add-on where I could pay for extra keywords whenever I need it, its game over.
