Q: Exporting data / WordPress plugin
Hi Paperguide team,
I'm almost buying Paperguide now but hesitating for this one reason, and that is the lack of exporting your data from Paperguide (please correct me if this feature already exists).
Any serious researcher would like to keep a local copy of his entire research data. It sounds terrifying if your career relies on a single online service like Paperguide. If anything happens to the server or the business, years of endeavour and effort will be buried and gone.
Will there be any feature to export my data from the reference manager, writer, etc as a universal format (e.g. csv, markdown)?
Furthermore, will there be any WordPress plugin to convert my data and keep them in my WordPress database (by linking my Paperguide account in the plugin directly or by importing the saved data)?
Thanks.

Nov 12, 2024A: Hi Acon,
I understand your concerns about data reliability and security. We perform frequent backups using Microsoft Azure Cloud. Currently, we offer an export option for writer documents and literature review workbooks, though not yet for the reference manager. We've received similar feedback from other users and plan to introduce a reliable and easy backup option, either to Google Drive or in a standard format, mostly by January.
I am not sure about backup to wordpress at this point of time as that might be too complicated.

Hi Roop,
Thanks for your reply. Good to know that you're listening to user suggestions. BTW I mentioned WordPress not just for backup. Since you promote Paperguide as a tool also for bloggers, at some point you'll need to consider a WordPress plugin to sync at least the Writer contents to WP. I know it takes time and resources but let's hope this happens when your business gets mature. :)
