Pica

Great alt to many tools out there

Hola Sumo-ling,

We're very glad that you think Picmaker is a great alternative.

If it's possible, could you name the tools for which you have Picmaker as an alternative to?

That would be crazy helpful for new users.

Thank You

Happy Designing :)

Wonderful software!

I've been using PicMaker for exactly two weeks now. I bought the 3rd tier level. I love that it's very similar to Canva, so I didn't need to invest a lot of time learning how to use all the features. So thankful to be able to create folders and subfolders to keep images well organized.

Love the sticker feature and background removal. Would love to be able to download specific images or pdf pages instead of all the images within the template that I'm working on. I know Canva has this feature, and it's very useful when I only need one or two images or pdf pages from my modified template versions.

So far, I've done very well in using only free images... even though I have 250 credits available, I haven't used any of them yet. I've also been sharing my templates with my blog readers to use. I saw on the roadmap that we should be able to sell templates in the future. I hope this feature will be added.

Hey RhondaW,

thanks for leaving us such a detailed review.

As promised you should get the ability to download individual slides instead of the whole design in Picmaker.

We have also added the ability to sell your designs as individual templates.

You can find that option under Edit -> Share a link to use as Template.

I'm sure that it will be incredibly helpful to you.

Please do let me know if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help.

Misleading information

They are providing only credit of Free and Premium stock images but there is one more stock image that exists called ELITE image. They charge $15 per image. You can not ignore those images while using MAD feature. You can not know your design is using the ELITE image or Premium image. During downloading, it will ask $15 per image because your design is using ELITE image. That time you will know.

Per single ELITE image they charge $15 extra instead of you are having LTD plan. It is looking like hidden charge.

In very first my design I was encountering with this issue. That's why I gave 1 star only. Not recommending. Better go with other option.

Hi Gitesh Trivedi,

Thank you for your feedback.

First things first: We are not misleading anybody here, neither are we inserting any hidden charges. We have been in business long enough to know that such cheap tactics do not work.

Like we already explained to you over a detailed call on 17 December, our Elite images are a result of our partnership with Getty Images. These are exclusive images by freelancers that Getty provides us as part of our contract with them. As you might already know, freelance photographers spend hours perfecting their shot or waiting for the right moment to take the right picture. It takes a lot of patience to get a picture right. It is like how YouTubers retake their videos umpteen times before they get one take right. We're sure you'd be aware of the struggles of freelancers.

We are selling it at $15 an image because we are paying Getty a lot of money to bring their exclusive picture library on our platform. This way, our users needn't look elsewhere for such awesome images. We give the choice to our users whether to buy these images or not.

Besides, Picmaker is not just about Elite images, There are plenty of DIY design features that are going to be brought in or enhanced from hereon. We are sure anybody would love to grab this deal before it goes away forever. We hope we have answered your query.

Thank you,

Team Picmaker

Besides, we assure that we will try our best to solve the issue that you have highlighted in your review. We understand that it could be causing some confusion, but we are always open to feedback. We have never shied away from getting feedback from our customers and enhancing our product for the best user experience. Thank you for bringing this to our notice.

Already Saved So Much Time and Money!

If you are like me and have a vision for design projects, but don't know how to make it happen, or just need ideas and templates to complete graphic design projects, this is for you. There is a review incentive, but this is a straight-up review. In less than two weeks, I have already done one logo and 7 other projects from banners to thumbnails to gig images. Saved a lot of money and time. The mad button and ability to do it just for particular elements e.g. fonts or colors is awesome. The inspiration from tons of templates is everything! Here's some great features I have gotten a ton of value from:

Snap grids

Huge photo and image library

Tons of Templates

Resizing Images

The Mad button and individual AI variations of colors and fonts

Folders to organize projects

Full hex color picking

Duplicate image or object or project

Documentation and Tutorials

The undo/redo feature

Intuitive layer features

Unlimited downloads

Ability to upload own images

Intuitive interface for novices

I haven't use workspace or Brand Kit yet, but they look good.

Here are some things that either I haven't learned to do yet, and are features, or could be future improvements:

Snap grids are great! But I don't see a measurement ruler option (unless I just missed it)

Can remove backgrounds of images, but what about transparent backgrounds for logos?

If the above are features, then they are not intuitive.

Would like to see in the future:

Ability to copy an element from one slide to another on same project.

Ability to take one slide in a project and start a new project

Ability to copy and paste from the hex color box

Ability to use the mad ai for just one selected text box and font while not changing others.

Transparent background slide

The above is nitpicking, though I do hope they are future features.

Here is my one major gripe: While you get free and premium images. Elite images are a whopping 15 dollars each. At least offer a volume discount... or a 5 image package or something.

Though overall for all of the premium credits and free images included, the amount of images included is truly awesome. Great value for those.

This is a great software and an overall great value. You don't have to be a designer or expert to quickly create awesome graphics with this software. Definite buy recommendation from me. Especially for the lifetime deal.

Hey devwoco,

Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review. Reviews like this absolutely make our day. We're a small team and reviews like this push us to make Picmaker better for you, every day.

I'll answer all your queries in order below

Snap grids are great! But I don't see a measurement ruler option (unless I just missed it)

- We are working on this and you should see it coming LIVE this year.

Can remove backgrounds of images, but what about transparent backgrounds for logos?

If the above are features, then they are not intuitive.

- You can download logos with a transparent background with the following steps

1. Go to download

2. Select filetype as 'PNG'

3. Check the 'Transparent background' box

4. Hit download

Would like to see in the future:

Ability to copy an element from one slide to another on same project

- You can do this by clicking on the element and using the (Crtl+C, Ctrl+V) options if you're on windows. Or the Cmd+C, Cmd+V on a macbook.

Ability to take one slide in a project and start a new project

-This is a neat idea. I'll add this to our roadmap so that my team can take a look at it. Here's the ticket I've raised for this feature request -> https://trello.com/c/x3Pg9CeT/115-ability-to-start-a-new-project-by-selecting-one-slide-inside-picmaker

Ability to copy and paste from the hex color box

-Yes, you can do that inside Picmaker. Click on the 'selected colours' and you'll see the hex option below.

Ability to use the mad ai for just one selected text box and font while not changing others.

-This is a request we have received from a ton of other users too. You should see this coming LIVE this year.

Here is my one major gripe: While you get free and premium images. Elite images are a whopping 15 dollars each. At least offer a volume discount... or a 5 image package or something.

We understand your concern about Elite Images. But we don't own these images. We are just partnered with organizations who own these images and they choose to charge a premium for these images. With that said, we'll try to include discounts and bring them together as packages.

I hope that answered all your questions. Please do let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be more than happy to help you out.

A great program

I have been using Picmaker for a short time, but have already checked it out. This program meets my requirements. You don't need to be a graphic designer to create your own unique FB post, poster, flyer, etc. This tool has many interesting templates tailored for specific purposes. Editing each template to match your own artwork and choosing from the available photos and objects is very easy. I am pleased with this purchase and recommend it to others.
