I want to address your concerns clearly and transparently as the founder of RanksPro.

When we launched our LTD on AppSumo, we truly believed that early users would support the product, share feedback, and help us grow. Unfortunately, the reality for a small, self-funded startup has been very different.

1. Rank Tracking Has a Real, Recurring Cost — and It Skyrocketed After Google Changes

Rank tracking is not a one-time action.
It costs real money every time we hit the SERP data providers’ APIs.

Our actual cost structure is:

→ ≈ $1 for every 100 keywords to track in Top 10 results (per hit / per day)

But after Google stopped supporting the num=100 parameter:

→ We must make 10 separate calls for Top 100 results

Which means the cost becomes:

→ $1 × 10 = $10 for every 100 keywords (per hit / per day)

So if a user tracks 100 keywords daily with depth 100:

$10 × 30 days = $300 per month cost for us.

If someone tracks 500 keywords daily:

$50 × 30 = $1,500 per month.

This is not sustainable for a lifetime deal user who paid $49, out of which we received roughly $24 after AppSumo’s 50% commission.

2. AppSumo Takes 50% of Every LTD Sale

For every $49 purchase, we receive about $24.

Meanwhile, many LTD users consumed $100–$1500 worth of rank tracking every month.

You can see why this became financially impossible.

3. Some Users Abused the AppSumo Trial Policy

Many:
• Used RanksPro for 59 days
• Cancelled
• Re-purchased another trial
• Repeated this cycle multiple times

We asked AppSumo to stop this, and they said:

“This is allowed in our policy.”

We lost thousands of dollars purely on trial abuse.

4. We Announced This on 17th September 2025

Due to rising API costs, changes in Google SERP, and heavy financial losses from the AppSumo campaign, we publicly announced that we can no longer support Rank Tracking for LTD users.

We did this transparently and responsibly.

5. All Other LTD Features Are Still Active Forever

You still have lifetime access to:

• Site Audit
• Domain Overview
• Competitive Analysis

• AI Keyword Tools
• And all other modules

Only Rank Tracking is affected — because it incurs ongoing variable costs.

6. We Are Offering a Fair Solution

For LTD users who still want Rank Tracking:

Option A:

Use your own API keys →
You pay the data provider directly, and we give you the Rank Tracker interface free for life.

Option B:

Take a discounted monthly plan if you want us to cover the API costs.

This is the only sustainable model for a non-funded startup.

7. We Have Never Scammed Anyone

Some users calling us “scammers” is very unfair.

We gave significantly more value than what was paid, and we burned our own funds for months to support LTD users.

We are not a funded startup with millions of dollars.
We are a small team trying hard to build a quality SEO platform.

If you genuinely support the tool, we request empathy and cooperation — not attacks.
