Q: Learning resources related to web and desktop automation with Robomotion?

Hi, I’m new to Robomotion and learning from your YouTube videos. My goal is a simple flow: open a browser, navigate to a site, login via vault, interact with buttons, tabs, dropdowns, and download multiple files and than delete them in the web application.

A few questions:
1. Some sites block bots— can Robomotion handle this? Would manually logging in first, then letting Robomotion take over post-login actions, be a possible workaround?
2. Could you share a basic example or flow for interacting with UI elements like buttons, tabs, and dropdowns? Can this be done with “Run Script”? Or provide some information where i can learn about such use cases.
3. Where can I learn about "desktop automation" with Robomotion? I haven’t found much about it yet. I know you have a discord channel. Are there further learning resources?
Thanks!

A: Hi,

Great, this playlist is enough to grasp the basics:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8McQmdKCjo0&list=PLie2idTJ_1wvlEgLuDUDt_bbAs-29xtmL

Just try to follow along with the videos and feel free to ask anything you get stuck on in our Discord: https://community.robomotion.io

1. Robomotion cannot handle blocks by itself, but using third-party solutions like CAPTCHA solvers and residential proxies in your flows you can bypass these sites. However, this is usually not easy, and the difficulty varies depending on the site and its anti-bot measures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8MNmVeB6ac

2. Here is an example flow that scrapes a bookstore list https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6W1b9cjA6Us - and here is instagram dm bot example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pug2rK-hkM

3. For Windows Desktop Automation you need our external windows inspector tool, latest version is here:

and here is how to use it : https://www.loom.com/share/06a3d381721544e5b20413bfbf042285

If you haven't already please join our Discord at https://community.robomotion.io we can help you there.

Thank you, Faik! Regarding Windows Desktop Automation, it took me a bit of time to discover that the "WINDOWS AUTOMATION" package is not pre-installed on the Designer Backend and needs to be installed manually. Hi,

Great that you found it. I should have mentioned that our node palette is designed with a minimal package set to keep the list compact. You can add and remove packages as you like, just like a painter's color palette.

Best,
