Hello,

It's impossible to say how our application differs from every other software on the market. Each one is different in some way, and Fusion, for example, allows users to run simulations.

What SelfCAD offers is a variety of design options. You can create manifold outputs and print your designs (we have an inbuilt slicer), you can draw, you can sculpt, you can render, and you can animate.

Are you looking for a specific tool or feature? It would make it easier for me to answer that way.

Cheers

Do you mean to transform an image into a 3D model?

It's possible, but the more complex the image the more difficult it will be. Have a look here. It's a very simple description of the tool https://youtu.be/LBrmwR9q_bk

hi,

thanks for reply, I know that video but I menat some thing in the real world with color, like a real food dish for example with pasta.

kind regards

You cannot convert objects with color, so you'd have to do all coloring manually once you convert the image. Have a look at this video. It shows a few tips for coloring objects created with Image to 3D. https://youtu.be/EK_Z264XAQo

Does this work well with wood working?

I think so, yes.

SelfCAD is great for furniture design and spatial carvings. It lacks support for CNC exporting, but there are plenty of file converters online where you can make your files compatible with CNC.

I have a few questions about License Tier 2.

It says that we can have up to 50 users with this tier. How exactly does this work? How will each user sign in? Will they have separate accounts from me?

Is there a way for two or more users to collaborate with each other in real time on a project? I'm curious if it's possible for two people to build a single 3D model together, by both working on it at the same time.

If I buy License Tier 1, can I switch to License Tier 2 later? I may want to switch to Tier 2 if I decide that I like the program after trying it and I want the option with more users. But I'm not sure if there's a way to switch from one tier to another after making the purchase. If I switch from License Tier 1 to License Tier 2, would I just pay the remaining amount or would I have to buy it again?

Thank you!

After purchasing Tier 2, you will have to set up your Organization, which requires a name and a unique code. The code is more important, as each user will have to type it in during login.

Once it's done, you can start creating users. You are the one who sets up their logins and passwords, so you can always take their account away from them. So yes, they will have separate accounts.

There's no way for two or more people to work on the same project simultaneously.

And yes, you can always upgrade to Tier 2. You'll find the option on the My Subscription page where you can change your plan. You will have to pay the difference, but you won't have to make a completely new purchase.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you very much for clarifying these things :)

Hello,

Yes, you can. We support multiple file formats, FBX being of them. You can check the full list here: https://www.selfcad.com/faq/other#what-file-formats-can-i-export-or-import-to-selfcad
