I’ve gotten a lot of messages that people wanted tavolo regardless of the open source or not, and we asked that everyone that did buy here on AppSumo get refunds! I also talked with Naveen and we will no longer be commercializing nocodb. I’m glad Naveen told me we stepped out of line, so we could get back to the other side of it. And he even gave me some advice on what licenses to use. so with that in mind, we ARE going to spin up another airtable alternative for everyone, using another open source option. And in light of so much discussion on open source etc this is a great opportunity to let people in my vision. Through whatever means we will continue to deliver low cost tech for those that normally can’t afford it, or just don’t want to pay monthly. Here’s an update video if you wanna see: https://youtu.be/A8GULyx-xOY
Q: Waiting for Tavolo’s Compliance — Requesting Transparency from AppSumo & NocoDB (Post2/2)
🔹Post 2: Believing in Accountability • NocoDB’s founder called TaskMagic a “watered-down” clone. If there’s a real compliance issue, let ActivePieces respond. If not, this confusion delayed our launches — will NocoDB compensate users like me for the impact? • Tavolo paused sales, responded transparently, & is working toward compliance. That’s ownership. • Issuing legal threats while redirecting traffic to your page feels ethically off • Your Decibel article says you want “a billion no-coders.” Then support that publicly, not just in PR • $21M raised, unclear pricing, pressure to monetize, I genuinely Q how long NocoDB can sustain • $21M for a database UI layer? Makes me want to learn to build one — and use the rest to solve real problems • I support transparency. That’s why I’ll back Tavolo — once it’s compliant. It fits my needs better.
A: Hey Blabs!!! Email me. We’re changing it up from nocodb. Tavolo will honor every single person who bought and we’ll transition you over to the new solution including the ai assistant in the next few days to a week! Again, we’re not affiliated with nocodb and we have some of the same questions! Lol. But as you know we will Always come through for the lazy empire! Our goal is to get you guys the...

Q: Waiting for Tavolo’s Compliance — Requesting Transparency from AppSumo & NocoDB (Post1/2)
🔹Post 1: Transparency Matters
• If Tavolo violated AGPL, why didn’t AppSumo catch it before listing? Users shouldn’t face legal risks post-purchase. • NocoDB’s pricing says “Free,” but in small font says it may change. With $21M in funding and 3 years live, vague messaging isn’t acceptable. • Why not clearly list the open-source download? Your own Decibel article boasts millions of downloads and use by Google, Walmart, etc. • That article also says NocoDB helps non-technical users. Then lead by example — guide us. Don’t hide self-hosted options. • I joined your Business Plan but will quit if you charge — even $1. • Open-source isn’t a PR buzzword. It’s a promise. Please honor it. • Open-source isn’t just legal compliance — it’s about accessibility and honesty. Show it where people decide whether to open their wallet.

Please use the original software at NocoDB.com. Tavolo has violated AGPLv3 license terms and have falsely claiming they are the company behind open source NocoDB. They even have the marketing images from our website which further violates our terms.
And more importantly are providing not even full version of open source NocoDB. Avoid Tavolo like a plague.
Q: Your listing uses proprietary images from NocoDB Cloud. Why is there not a single real screenshot of your product?
You have not presented a single authentic screenshot of your own product. All images appear to be direct copies from the NocoDB Cloud website with only superficial branding changes via image editing. This is not a derivative implementation; it is an unauthorized replication of protected visual assets, publicly misrepresented as belonging to another entity. There is no visible evidence that this product exists independently nor any indication of compliance with open-source licensing obligations or intellectual property law.
It has been several hours and there has been no attempt to even address this or take down the marketing images copied from NocoDB website. Website added to archive again for further evidence. Cease & Desist.
