Q: Is it possible to set up so that a client can extend the time period of an appointment when booking?

Is it possible to set up so that a client can extend the time period of an appointment when booking?
e.g. we set up a 1hr appointment slot, but make so that the person booking can extend that to say 2 or 3 hours at the point of booking.
Or do we need to create that as 3 different booking options, thus making the appointments table much busier?

Thanks for asking — that’s a great question!

At the moment, TidyCal doesn’t support allowing clients to extend or choose the appointment duration during booking. The duration of each booking type is fixed by the host when creating it.

If you’d like to offer flexible lengths (e.g. 1-hour, 2-hour, 3-hour sessions), the current workaround is to create separate booking types for each duration — for example:

“1-Hour Lesson”
“2-Hour Lesson”
“3-Hour Lesson”

You can group them neatly using descriptive names or categories so your dashboard stays organized.
