But yeah, this one video, I want to love it. But I know I would have loved it 15 years ago. But now I just feel the UX is out of date.

The videos like the templates that are there look a little bit dated.

I mean, it's not a bad piece of software and it does what It does exactly what it says. You can go in, you can edit a template, and you can have a little animation video.

But the overall experience just feels a little bit 2010 explainer videos. Now, having said that, I still see explainer videos with those characters and the hand moving, etc. for some businesses.

But I don't know, maybe I'm missing something. I mean, I know there is more to this, but this is my initial review. You can see everything in the video. If you have any questions, let me know. But yeah, I'm not 100% convinced by this one.

Wideo has been around for a while, and you can feel that in the parts of the product that work well. If you want to make a simple animated explainer, promo video, onboarding video, or social video from a template, Wideo is great for the job.

It works very well as a template based animation tool. You pick a video structure, replace the text and visuals, add voiceover, and turn it into an explainer, promo, onboarding clip, or social post without animating every scene from scratch.

Some of the newer AI pages needed clearer wording. During my retest, the blog to video tool only captured part of the article I tested. The team explained that the tool summarizes a post and creates a short promotional video meant to send people back to the original article. So I would describe it as a blog promo tool rather than a full article to video converter.

The AI Avatars page could have been clearer during my test. The team clarified that AI Avatars are a custom solution, not a regular dashboard feature users can create on their own. Since it still appears on the landing page, buyers may not immediately understand that difference.

The Text to Speech page also slightly confused me. It was branded as Wideo, but the main Try Now button sent me to Speechify through an affiliate link. The team clarified that Wideo does offer text to speech inside the editor, so buyers should look at the editor itself for the actual Wideo feature.

The team also said a new version of the app is close and that the current legacy dashboard dependencies will be replaced as part of that migration. They also confirmed the missing license notices in the bundled JavaScript file have been addressed.

Overall, I would look at Wideo for what it already does well: template based animated videos, simple explainers, promo videos, and branded social content. The main thing is to understand the difference between the regular editor, the AI features inside the app, and custom services like AI Avatars. For explainers, promos, onboarding clips, and social posts, the editor and template library are strong reasons to consider it.

I tried 2 LinkedIn animations so far, and both were wonderful. I am happy that I bought Tier 3 before it expired in AppSumo.

This is an extremely user-friendly and valuable app. It makes creating explainer videos easy and helps with onboarding. It is also great as a marketing tool. It is worth every taco. Unlike many I have used in the past, I didn't need to spend time on YouTube trying to figure out how it works. It was super easy to navigate and get things done.

I've been uploading promo videos for myself and my clients for a long time and have been pretty happy with conversions.

However, today I decided to purchase Wideo, Tier 3 as it looked different to what I was using and had excellent reviews on AppSumo.

I am quite used to the type of interface that they use and so quickly created a 20 second animation video.

Five minutes after posting, I got my first enquiry and some Shares of the video so, most impressed. As this type of video is different from the 'norm' I imagine that's why it got such quick attention.

The video was announcing the launch of a new PR service that I am launching (another software from AppSumo 😊) and so this seems to compliment my business right off the bat.
