When AppSumo started in 2010, it was just one guy sending a lot of emails to founders, hoping to launch them as deals on our platform.

That guy was Chief Sumo Noah Kagan.

Fast forward 15 years, and we've partnered with over 7,000 founders, bringing cutting-edge software to hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs worldwide.

To celebrate our 15-year anniversary, we caught up with some of our most successful partners to see where they are today. These founders started with an idea, launched on AppSumo, and blew up. Here’s how they did it.

SocialBee

AppSumo Launch Date: February 2018

SocialBee started as a social media management tool, helping businesses and creators schedule and repurpose content effortlessly.

In 2024 alone, SocialBee powered 10M+ social media posts and expanded to support 10 major social networks directly.

After launching on AppSumo, SocialBee was acquired by WebPros—joining powerhouse companies like cPanel and Plesk.

The SocialBee team/hive runs deep.

Remo

AppSumo Launch Date: March 2020

Remo transformed virtual events by making them immersive and engaging. (Fun fact: the AppSumo team used Remo to stay connected in 2020!)

In Winter 2025, G2 recognized the tool as a Leader in Virtual Event Platforms and Best Estimated ROI for Audience Response.

Oh, and did we mention Remo was just acquired by Events.com? This strategic move expands its reach in the $98B virtual events market.

WhisperTranscribe

AppSumo Launch Date: December 2023

WhisperTranscribe is a next-gen transcription tool that turns audio into written content. Since launching, it’s grown from 500 users to 37,000 users. In 2024 alone, the tool transcribed 4.5 million minutes of audio.

WhisperTranscribe also introduced in-app video cutting and launched Magic Chat, a feature where users can literally talk to transcripts and generate detailed reports.

Heights Platform

AppSumo Launch Date: January 2020

Heights Platform, the AI-powered online course creator, has continued to evolve. Most recently, the team launched Heights AI 2, a powerful suite of AI tools designed to help creators scale their businesses. These tools include the first autonomous AI coach that gives personalized business advice, and an AI web page generator that can build and edit entire websites in minutes.

Their Creator Climb community has also surpassed over 10,000 members, becoming a hub for creators to connect and grow.

Brain.fm

AppSumo Launch Date: November 2015

Brain.fm is a scientifically proven music engine that uses AI to help you stay focused, sleep better, and maximize productivity.

In January 2025, Brain.fm became the first music service designed to boost focus for people with ADHD, backed by a peer-reviewed study in collaboration with Northeastern University.

Plutio

AppSumo Launch Date: October 2017

Plutio was designed for freelancers and agencies to run their entire business on one platform.

It’s since been featured on Forbes' Top Ten Tools List, recognized as an essential tool for freelancers and micro businesses. The team recently launched Plutio 3.0, leveling it up to be more intuitive, customizable, and collaborative.

Since its launch, over 16,000 businesses worldwide run on Plutio, with $232M+ invoiced, 73,000+ proposals signed, and 264M+ minutes of work tracked.

Krisp

AppSumo Launch Date: August 2019

Krisp is a revolutionary noise-cancellation app for meetings and calls. After raising over $16M+ in Series A funding, the company went on to partner with tech giants like Twilio, Five9, and 8x8.

Recognized by Forbes as one of America’s most promising AI companies, named a G2 Leader in Noise Cancellation & Voice Recognition, and featured in Time magazine among the best AI note-taking tools, Krisp has clearly become an industry leader in audio intelligence.

Lemlist

AppSumo Launch Date: February 2018

Lemlist, the powerful cold outreach tool, launched with the last $1,000 founder Guillaume Moubeche had. By 2019, Lemlist hit $1M ARR. By 2021, it was valued at $150M.

In 2024, Lemlist launched an AI email personalization engine, taking outbound sales to a new level. Today, under its parent company lempire, Lemlist is part of a $28M ARR ecosystem of SaaS products.
