Q: Hey there Sumo-lings!

Our time here on AppSumo is coming to a close so I wanted to give this stellar community one last update.

Bringing on thousands of customers in a short amount of time has helped us improve our product, our processes, and our overall service in ways that couldn’t be accomplished by any other means.

We’ve added many new features during our campaign based on your feedback, which we highly value and appreciate. Here are the most recent developments.

✅ Client Management: For agencies using Evidence, we improved the management of customers with unique sub-accounts.

✅ Visit Limit: You now have the ability to set limits on sub-accounts, whose events draw from the master account. Whether you’re an agency with clients or just someone who has marketing friends you want to sell sub-accounts to, this will allow you to charge cash-money for Evidence (monthly) and yield a huge return on your one-time investment.

✅ Replaceable Branding: While we launched the deal stating that sumo-lings who purchase 3 or more accounts would have the ability to remove and replace the Evidence branding with their own branding on their own account, we expanded this to be the case for all of their sub-accounts as well.

✅ Form Identification: We added both a hidden field option and a data attribute option for recognizing unique forms the script doesn’t detect on its own.

✅ Form Submission: We added a Div or Area Clicked option to Form is Submitted and Button is Clicked in order to capture data from non-traditional forms.

✅ Backend Updates: While these updates don't look like new features or UI enhancements, we completed a heavy overall on our backend to increase speed, reliability, and scalability.

✅ Bug Fixes: 48 bugs have been squashed in the last couple of months.

In the near future:

🔲 Internationalization: While our web-based app can be viewed in any language Google translates, and both static and dynamic text in notifications can be updated to any UTC language, this internationalization initiative will include the translation of fixed content (including timestamps) as well as RTL language support.

🔲 Engagement Metrics: We’re excited to bring you in-depth metrics including impressions, hovers, clicks, boomerang traffic, and more. These numbers will give you better insight into the value Evidence is delivering in your marketing efforts.

🔲 Zapier Integration: While Evidence already plays great with Zapier via webhooks, a native Zapier integration will allow for higher reliability and even deeper integrations.

🔲 Parsey Integration: We’ve received this request from far more users than we anticipated and since we’re the creators of Parsey, we’re going to make it happen for both user bases.

🔲 New Notification Types: We have three new notification types being added to our platform.

Expect to see all of these exciting updates arriving before the end of the year.

Q: Hey Jarrod, Hope you guys are monitoring on the last day.

Question. If we pick up 2 codes, that means 100K visitors will see whatever evidence we have, but anyone over that sees nothing — right?

Question. If a visitor comes back an hour later, does that second visit count against us? I ask this because some people open a tab on their browser and it sits there for weeks. Every time they start their computer and the browser refreshes, is that another hit on our evidence total? If so, a lot of our inventiry is going to get burned fast.

Question. On sub-accounts, all visits they burn come off our total, right? If I have 100K visits and I have two subs who each burn 50K, I'm cooked for the month — yes?

Question. Can I deploy certain items of evidence to a specific page, not the whole site; or to the home page and another specific page? In example, if I have a testimonial for a training course, I could have it on the home page and also the course sales page.

A: Hey Sumo-ling,

I'll answer your questions in order:

Question #1: That is correct. When you hit your limit, notifications will stop shopping until the next cycle.

Question #2:. Our tool is tracking visits, not visitors. It's not quite the exact same as a session in Google Analytics, but very close. If a visitor comes back an hour later, it will count as a separate visit. We use that metric because that is how our costs are calculated. Our servers are hit when our pixel is loaded (a new visit).

Question #3. that is correct. You will have a total amount for your master account. However, you can allocate a specific amount to each sub-account. For example, you can give 90k to one account and 10k to another.

Question #4. Yes. There are a number of different ways you can do this.
Option 1: At the campaign level, you can add a display rule to only how that particular campaign on a specific page or set it to hide it from specific pages. This is a great way to make sure different campaigns are firing on different pages. However, even if you don't have notifications showing on a specific page, you are still getting "visits" for people coming to that page IF you have the pixel installed on that page.
Option 2: If you are using WordPress, you can use our Evidence plugin to exclude the pixel from specific pages. This will help you prevent some of the traffic from hitting your visit allotment. You will still want to make sure you are using display settings at the campaign level to ensure the right campaign is firing on the right pages.
Option 3: You can use a tool like Google Tag Manager to make sure the pixel is only fired when you want it fired. GTM is a really robust tool. If you (or someone in your org) is good with GTM, you can do customize who Evidence is shown to. We have a help doc on installing Evidence with GTM and a doc showing how to use GTM to only put Evidence on Desktop, but that is about the extent of our support with GTM.

Based on your questions, it sounds like you are pretty concerned about hitting your limit. At $49/code for a lifetime license, it's a pretty good offer on a tool like Evidence. We have no plans on putting it back on AppSumo, so I'd grab some extra codes while you can. If you are planning on getting 2, maybe consider getting 4-5 instead. If after a month of using Evidence, you'll have a better idea of your usage and you can refund those extra codes if you don't need them. AppSumo gives you 60 days to refund your purchase.
