The appeal is there, but it's not a good fit for my business
TL;DR: I have pretty extensively tested the 10Web features included in this deal (minus a few features), and while it may be a great fit for some businesses, I already have substitutions for most of the tools that 10Web offers. Get a code for yourself and test it out!
Pros:
-The interface is really polished. I had no trouble navigating through each of the menus and finding everything that I needed to. Everything is organized by website in a neat left-side menu.
-There's a lot of features to their service. Most websites will only need their services and be happy. Everything connects well and you can download and install the 10Web plugins (and any other WP repo plugins) straight from your 10Web dashboard.
-Their support is pretty good. I only had to ask them about the backup issue I had (see below), but they responded quick and were knowledgeable.
-It looks like they regularly deliver on their roadmap, which has quite a few exciting features coming up and just delivered.
Cons:
-10Web services do not work (you can really only update plugins and themes) on local servers. This is the main crux of my work as I regularly have dev and staging environments on local servers. Essentially, you need to either host through their service, have a staging environment already on production servers, or use their plugins on production (meaning active development, which you should never do).
-For a test site I setup on production servers (Siteground), while trying to use the 10Web backup service, it continually failed at 80% of the job. While contacting support, they said that I needed to increase the ulimit sizes on the server, which SiteGround won't do on shared hosting because it will affect other customers. While this isn't a huge loss because I have daily backups with SG, it's a nice feature to have in 10Web.
-Some of their plugins/extensions leave much to be desired. The security scan showed only low-priority issues for me (I didn't have any vulnerabilities to report), but it didn't tell me how to fix them or what they pertained to. The SEO plugin was good, but nowhere near the level of SEOPress or Yoast. I didn't try their calendar plugin(s).
-There's no whitelabel, reporting, or dashboard for clients. Supposedly this is all coming soon, but I can't wait for essential features like these for my clients.
Overall, I already have the necessary tools that can replace pretty much all of 10Web's tools:
-Backup: Go through hosting provider/cPanel/ManageWP
-Image Compression/Optimization: ShortPixel/WP SMush.It
-SEO: SeoPress Pro
-Security: Malcare/Sucuri
-Performance Scanner: GtMetrix/Pagespeed/...
This deal could be worth it for the form maker alone, but I wasn't willing to connect everything for just that feature.
I highly recommend buying at least one code and giving it a go for your business as there is definitely a need for their services.
