More of a Crowdfunding Effort for MRR Customers
After purchasing Tier 2 and actually trying to use it, the experience has been pretty disappointing. For the price paid, the functionality feels extremely basic. Most of the platform is locked down, I can’t create additional projects, can’t access audit logs, and anything under the “Security” section is restricted. It feels more like a demo account than a usable product.
To be fair, I should have tested it more thoroughly during the refund window, that’s on me. But I’ve also seen others who bought up to Tier 5 expressing the same frustration, which just confirms what this really was: a way to fund Activepieces’ development using lifetime deal buyers while building a feature set meant for their monthly subscription customers.
So what was the point of the AppSumo deal? It feels like they took the money and shifted focus entirely to MRR users. And judging by how community feedback and support requests are handled (or ignored), it’s hard to believe they ever intended to support lifetime users seriously.
If this deal ever comes back on AppSumo, my advice is simple: avoid it. You’re not getting a sustainable product, you’re just funding their roadmap for others and you won't get support so I would advise against it.
The product does seem good though but unfortunately due to the way the team managed to make me feel cheated, I wouldn't even pay monthly.

Jul 1, 2025This is an interesting take on our offering, but let me explain. Companies actually do LTDs to raise funds. It's not a secret. But we didn't. We are backed by YC and have been profitable for a long time now and we almost have 0 AppSumo users on any recurring plan today (maybe 1 or 2 if any). None of the features you mentioned existed before you bought the LTD, and these are known to be enterprise features on any software on the internet today.
I'm sorry that you didn't know what's included when you bought, because if anything, you ONLY got more features in your plan than what you bought originally.
Thanks for expressing your opinion, but I wish you refunded in the refund period.
