As a disadvantage we could point out that SMTP does not provide a way to link an external CRM completely if we have to attach files and we want to know if the particular email has been delivered, opened, clicked or bounced, since there is no way to link the email sent from the CRM with the webhooks or the API (with the API you can not attach files). All this would be solved as other providers do with a Payload sent in the custom email headers and returned in the webhook. We have discussed this with support but it is not a priority at the moment.
