Great UI & super intuitive

Imagine being able to set up most things you need in under an hour. That was my experience with Acumbamail summed up in a sentence.

Understandably, there are comparisons between Vbout and Acumbamail, given both are currently live.

Acumbamail is more intuitive and (much) quicker to set things up. The limit is also better. Landing page & email builder are better.

However, Vbout is more robust when it comes to building automations and flows, comparable to some of the best out there. You just need to get used to the learning curve.

Both are great tools. Both have cart abandonment, integrations to Shopify. If your use cases are fairly straightforward, use Acumbamail. If you’re experienced with emailc want to set up advanced automations and know exactly what you’re doing, use Vbout

Also, you can ask the team to enable the Agency plan even at Tier 1, up to 100 sub accounts. I’ve tested sending out campaigns to a small list (after setting up DKIM and SPF and the deliverability was great).

Some suggestions:

Segments: Right now I’m seeing segments being set up UNDER Lists level. However I believe it should be across different lists. Eg: people who have opened this specific email campaign A, signed up to form B and clicked on email campaign C (Following their journey)
• Lists: Can the same person be in different lists?
• Finally, this one is the biggest limitation: not being able to see their order values & order details. Without this, I’m almost forced to stay on Klaviyo for 2 of my Shopify sites because we wont be able to create custom campaigns for people who bought specific products (for sending relevant info & upsells).

Can I ask what’s the plan you guys are aiming for with Shopify specifically? It’s a huge market and since you already have the integration, I believe it deserves a lot of love 😁 Loving Acumbamail so far for our other projects on WP.

Highly recommend this to someone who wants a straightforward email marketing tool with beautiful email & landing page builder!

Hi!

First of all, thank YOU for this review, as it is extremely helpful for both Sumo-lings as for us 🙌.

Yes, I agree with the use case differences for choosing VBOUT or Acumbamail. I would add Acumbamail works best if you are specifically looking for an ESP with advanced features, as the email sending limit with us is higher for the same price (20,000 vs 10,000) + unlimited users for a single account + different types of email campaigns (newsletter, transactional email, AB tests, RSS, autoresponders). While VBOUT seems to allow to connect and automate more channels, e.g. we don't offer specific features for Social Media, besides Facebook custom audiences for ads.

As for the suggestions mentioned:

1/ Segments: yes, you're right, implementing segments for all lists would be really convenient. It is a bit complicated to adopt in terms of development, but we definitely take this into account as it is a really interesting suggestion.

Right now each list is connected to the campaigns sent to that list, e.g. if you send X campaigns to 2 lists consistently you can still create the same segments for both of them and personalize your messages. Let's say you want to send only to two segments from two different lists that have clicked on your email. It is list-level, but it's still possible. Let me know if I explained myself clearly here :)

2/ On Same person/email address on different lists:
Yes, the same email address can be included on different lists, this might seem counterproductive, but the same subscriber can have different behaviors depending on the list and the campaigns that have been sent out to those lists. In any case, you have a tool to detect duplicates and delete them from the list you select, as well as quickly finding out on which list(s) a subscriber is included and change their information if you need to.

3/ Finally, on Shopify, yes this suggestion makes a lot of sense and we'd like to upgrade our Shopify integration in the future! 🙌 We might consider it for our roadmap any time soon, we'll let you know for sure.

Thanks again for your time!

Cheers,
Marina
