Hmm...It Really Is That Simple

I haven't been much of a Facebook person since 2012, and I haven't been a Facebook Page or Business person at all until just a few weeks ago. In fact, the only reason I set up my page was because all the courses that say I need Facebook Ads to ramp up my sales potential (for my novels) also say I need a Facebook Page for those ads to work, and if I want to succeed as an author, which means getting people to notice what I'm writing, then I need both a Facebook Page and a Facebook Ads account ready for launch.

Fair enough. I'm willing to play their game.

But these same courses warn of the problems of running a Facebook Ad blindly, as well as the money I can waste if I play without knowing the rules. In other words, if I go in without understanding them, then I may as well kiss my wallet goodbye. So, they give advice like: "Keep an eye on the cost-per-clicks!" "Target the right audience!" "Turn off the ad if the CPC is greater than the ROI!" "Monitor, monitor, monitor!"

"Aaaahhh!"

They recommend using a spreadsheet. They recommend using the spreadsheet to compare trends. They recommend the spreadsheet to...actually, I forgot because there's so much to remember.

It's enough to procrastinate my way into poverty!

Fortunately, ADYOUNEED comes along, boasting its sensible reporting and ease of use, making a marketing illiterate like me a bit more hopeful.

I read the reviews. Watch the YouTube demonstrations.

Critics say, "It's great for beginners, but not so much for advanced users."

Okay, but I'm a beginner! I don't know the first thing about using Facebook for ads! What's the difference between a Business Manager and an Events Manager? (*shrugs*) "I 'uhn-no."

Someone else compares it to Scalify. "Scalify is more advanced!" they say. I think, oh, well then I should have a look at that.

And I do.

And I fail to see how it's any less complicated than the actual Facebook Ads platform. The reporting certainly looks about as convoluted.

ADYOUNEED looks simpler. Easier to handle. Much more suitable for a newbie like me, made so I don't have to obsess over an Excel sheet when checking whether I'm earning money or bleeding it.

Cut to last night: I took a chance on it. I still don't have a clue how to decide I'm ready for Facebook Ads. I'm still building my website. My Facebook Page has one follower. I'm probably jumping the gun here.

Fortunately, ADYOUNEED has simple (and short) tutorials to orient me to its system. Took me less than ten minutes to watch all four. Truth is, I'll probably have to watch them again once I really get going, just to be sure I didn't misunderstand anything. But the important thing is that I can.

So, just by walking through the setup process for connecting my Facebook account to ADYOUNEED, I learned more about the process of prepping my business for ads. And with their support system, I think I'll be a pro at this once I'm ready to launch my ads.

But I'm sure I'll still use it once I graduate from beginner status.
