I am giving this product 1 star because simply it is useless and the support is awful.

The Concept & The Issues

This app is supposed to provide a solid support for literature and academic research. Does it do the job well? No.
I think the creators of the app should first look at the industry-leading literature-based solutions and learn from their features and experiences.

The app is as simple as just another ChatGPT clone but for “academia”.

As an analyst person who came from academia, I can say this is just a scrap.

* AI Responses are 50% wrong for any single or bulk article analysis which very sensitive for academic users.
* AI responses are very slow though the user is just using one AI model, not multiple.
* I performed the exact same papers analysis on the ChatGPT (the free version) and I got 100% fast and accurate results. Then why should someone purchase this in such a case?

Compare it with the affordable and industry-leading “Papers” app from PaperCube.
* If you are a researcher or student, you get a 40% yearly discount. 4 USD/month!
* What you get with this on the Paper App: unlimited PDF uploads, single or multiple paper chat, section-focused chat for sections such as results or conclusions.

Even without being an academic person and you pay 8 USD per month, this is considered cheaper than this deal, considering the prices and the benefits.

Of course, I would be happy if I can found it a real LTD that can replace an app like “Papers”. But does this app is able to replace “Papers” or any industry-leading AI research-based tool? Definitely no. Simply use the free ChatGPT.

Support:

The support agents are two types:
* 1 or 2 people who simply respond to your issues by “we will forward this to the developer”.
* And the other is “Alec”, I guess the so-called “founder”: you can expect responses such as, “sorry, I should go and provide support to others”. He ends up the chat with you before the issue is resolved or you confirm to him all is fine. His attitude is rude and disrespectful to clients.
* Overall, the support is useless.

What alternative?

On AppSumo, the PaperGuide is really what is so-called AI LTD for academia or literature analysis. It is accurate and fast. It supports tables comparison of multiple papers, and at the top of that, a feature that all researchers or analysts need: “the data extraction”. It is just amazing and accurate and saved me lots of time.

PaperGuide LTD on AppSumo made me switch from the “Papers” app.

In conclusion:

I don’t recommend this AI clone by LTD or subscription. Around there are LTD and non-LTD options for serious academic users. The support is just awful and the LTD is very pricy for what it offers.
