AgencyDismay
I have to leave a one-taco review based on the current offer.
AgencyJoy is promoting the addition of users per code. If you look at the tiers, it is the only variable that changes. The more codes, the more users you get.
Further, if you read other reviews on AppSumo and their website, you will find statements highlighting the value this offers:
From netsicle, June 3rd: "The distinct workspace for each brand makes client management a breeze. What adds more charm is that we pay per user, not workspaces – a steal deal."
From Paul62, May 27: "I have separate workspace for each Brand - simple and effective. Great value as you only pay per user and not workspaces."
Sounds like a great agency solution for a small agency or freelancer. You can separate brands and clients into workspaces and stack the codes you need to accommodate your team and other users.
However, that isn't how it works. You have to stack codes PER WORKSPACE. As an example of how this could quickly spiral out of control, consider this very reasonable example: if you have six workspaces and you need five users for each workspace, you need 18 codes. That's 882 dollars, and that's if you can get an LTD before the offer ends.
What happens if you add a client or brand after the LTD ends? You, the small agency owner, have invested in an LTD deal that might become a key point of your tech stack. Your only option in the future is to find a different solution or start paying a monthly fee per user per workspace.
This is problematic and something many purchasers will want to understand BEFORE purchasing. However, there is no mention of how adding users to workspaces works in the AppSumo offer (Try ctrl+f and search for "workspace" in the offer page.) In fact, "workspace" is not mentioned ANYWHERE in the AppSumo offer or on their website that I can find.
This company purports to be an agency that turned its efforts to develop solutions for other small agencies and freelancers. The cynical part of me is wondering how it is possible that the omission of this information is accidental. How can this extremely important information not be mentioned in the offer? This is critical information needed to make an informed purchase. Its absence makes the offer feel like a bait-and-switch.
I will reach out to AppSumo to share my concerns over this listing. The listing, as currently written, does not mention that users are per workspace, which is determined per code. The listing implies that users are PER ACCOUNT, which is determined by stacking codes. I feel that should be honored.
