Q: Security Module

Hi Shridhan,

I’m currently evaluating AI Cloud Insight for ongoing use and wanted to get a clearer understanding of the Security module.

Could you kindly clarify the following:

How in-depth is the security scanning across AWS and Azure accounts?

Does it detect risks, misconfigurations, and active threats in real time or near real time?

Does the platform cover containers (e.g. EKS, AKS) and serverless services (e.g. AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) similar to how CSPM or CNAPP operate?

I’d appreciate any documentation, feature breakdowns, or roadmap details you can share regarding this module’s scope.

Thanks in advance

A: Hello raleigh07,
Thank you for evaluating AI Cloud Insights and for your thoughtful questions about the Security module. We’re happy to clarify its capabilities:

Scanning Depth for AWS/Azure:
Our security scanning integrates directly with native cloud services provides - component services on AWS and Azure to provide comprehensive, in-depth visibility into your environments. This ensures findings are continuously updated, validated against cloud-native intelligence, and prioritized for accuracy.

Real-Time Threat Detection:
Risks, misconfigurations, and active threats are identified in real time through live integrations with cloud service providers data inputs directly. Insights are dynamically refreshed to reflect your environment’s current state, enabling swift action.

Dashboard & Compliance:
Findings are enriched and organized by severity on the dashboard, with compliance benchmarks like CIS mapped directly to AWS data. This helps teams contextualize risks and align with industry standards.

Containers (EKS, AKS) & Serverless:
Support for containerized environments (EKS, AKS) and serverless services (Lambda, Azure Functions) is currently in active development and planned for release in our next phase. We’ll keep you informed as this progresses!

CSPM/CNAPP Alignment:
We’re conducting an internal review to align more closely with CSPM/CNAPP frameworks specifically for Policy enforcement, Vulnerability Management, and Identity and Access Management. While our current capabilities focus on real-time risk detection and compliance, we aim to consider possible functionalities in future updates based on customer needs.

Documentation & Roadmap:
For feature breakdowns and module scope, our documentation here https://aicloudinsights.expertcloudconsulting.com/documentation provides necessary specifics. Roadmap updates will be shared via release notes and direct communications on the market places.

Hope this clarifies. Let us know if you’d like to discuss timelines, use cases, or additional support for your evaluation!

Thanks,
Shridhan

A: Aicloudinsights supports CSV export functionality for the Security and Activity module dashboards. These reports can be downloaded directly from the dashboard/app for further analysis. The cost insights are accessible on the dashboard interface itself.

We do offer a daily email (End of the Day) reporting feature for modules you have opted for. These reports are based on your selected timezone and includes summary of key metrics from the respective module dashboard(s).

Here is how to Enable Daily Email Reports in AI Cloud Insights:
-Log in to the AI Cloud Insights platform.
-Choose your cloud provider — AWS or Azure.
-Navigate to the Settings section.
-Go to the Email Notification tab to configure your daily report preferences based on your preferred email ID's (max 3), selected timezone and module.

Q: Team members allowed?

Hello,

This product looks really great as AWS is a NIGHTMARE! 😄

As the owner of the account, can I give access to team members? Per aws account or globally?

Thank you!

A: Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your input!

Currently, access is limited to a single subscribed email ID. However, we’re excited to share that by next week, we’ll release an update enabling automated end-of-day reports to be shared with 3 additional team member email IDs. This enhancement will streamline collaboration by ensuring your team receives critical insights daily via the end-of-day report, directly in their inbox.

A: Hello Huzairi,

We will be offering Azure with no additional cost to the existing users along with AWS for limited time period. Azure will be integrated in few weeks. However GCP integration would take time.

Thanks.

Q: Minimal AWS Permissions for Secure Deployment?

Hi guys, your product looks promising!

My question is:

Can your product help grant the minimal permissions needed to deploy an app securely while ensuring optimal performance?

For context, when I deployed an app on AWS using broad permissions, it triggered deployments across multiple VPS instances in various regions. Despite using free tiers, it consumed excessive resources and led to unexpected charges—even after stopping instances, databases, and elastic IPs. I had to manually delete each resource to nearly zero my bill.

A: Thank you Xavier, for using our product and for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate it.

Our AI-driven AICloudInsights tool is designed to provide essential resource insights to help monitor and control overall costs, security risks, and activities across multiple accounts. Based on your experience, we understand the importance of enforcing minimal permissions to prevent unintended resource consumption and unexpected charges.

To optimize cost while ensuring security and performance, we recommend following these AWS best practices:

✅ Limit Non-Critical Resource Tracking: Use AWS Config’s recording exclusions to avoid tracking ephemeral or temporary resources (e.g., Lambda versions, spot instances).
✅ Disable Unused Rules: Review and turn off redundant AWS Config rules to reduce overhead.
✅ Optimize Multi-Region Usage: Disable AWS Config in regions where compliance checks aren’t required.
✅ Centralized Monitoring: Use AWS Organizations aggregators to consolidate resource data across accounts, reducing redundant evaluations.
✅ Set Up Cost Allocation Tags: Tag resources to identify high-cost teams/services.

You may want to get in touch with our experts, to address above.

Additionally, based on your feedback—we have fine-tuned our tool to enforce minimal permissions while still delivering the necessary insights.

Lastly, if you ever need to roll back the tool, we’ve added detailed instructions to ensure a smooth and minimal-intervention removal process.

Let us know if we can assist further. Thanks again for your valuable insights!
