AIDictation v0.0.70 on macOS 26.3.1 (a) worked well for my basic use case: Chrome, Notes, and quick message replies.

No giant dashboard.
No unnecessary writing suite.
No separate dictation window.

Just a hotkey, a recording state, and text inserted into the place I am already typing.

That is exactly the kind of Mac utility I wanted.
