AppSumo Bundle Volume 2: AI Power Pack Reviews

I like value so I tried this out. Not a big fan of free first year subscriptions that you have to attach a payment card to since I tend to forget the ones that I end up not using and then have to deal with a charge and refund a year later.

But for me I figured out that I'd just set up 'virtual cards' for each of the services (thank you Capital One) and then I can disable the cards before the year is up so if (or more likely, when) I forget to cancel the services I don't want to use anymore, I won't have to deal with chasing refunds. I hate chasing refunds.

Anyway, on another note, I totally forgot that I bought this and blew past the windows to activate the services. And here on January 1 of 2026 I tried activating the services. 3 of 4 still worked. The one non-starter? Otter.ai Just came back with 'code invalid'. Ah well, guess I don't get that one.

Obviously haven't used the services yet, but even so, the whole process has been a bit of a mixed bag. But I guess you can expect that when you try to chase 'deals' and find 'value' in a world of monthly subscription fees.

To be honest, I was surprised with all the 1-star reviews. I hope AS takes into account the feedback and streamlines these bundles in a better way.

⭐ Review: AppSumo Bundle Volume 2 – AI Power Pack

Verdict: Not worth the time, the money, or the McPoutyFace it gave me.

I jumped into this bundle expecting a powerful toolkit—Otter.ai, Lex, Freepik, and Gumloop all wrapped together sounded like a great deal.

Reality?
Only Freepik held any real value.
The rest of the tools felt limited, underwhelming, or simply unnecessary for what I actually need. The “AI Power Pack” quickly turned into “AI Paperweight Pack.”

To make matters worse, when I realized the bundle wasn’t delivering anything close to what was advertised, I was told no refunds. So yes… I’ve been walking around with my full McPoutyFace ever since.

In short:
I feel ripped off.
This bundle overpromises, underdelivers, and offers very little return for the price—unless you just want Freepik, in which case… buy just Freepik.

Do yourself a favor:
Skip this bundle. Your wallet (and face) will thank you.

Freepik credits are valid for a year in advance, but unfortunately there are so few of them that after generating a dozen or so videos with sound, the account can be deleted due to insufficient credits.

Its ok but then we may get hit with a anual subscription if we do not cancel before the 1st year. This offer may be a good fit for some users but ot for may others.

I am a huge fan of Appsumo. But this deal was really bad. I actually bought it for Freepik and Otter, and I have to say I am really disappointed.

Freepik, as has been mentioned several times, is really a bad deal. And honestly, the results I have achieved with it so far are the same as those I achieved with Nano Banana in my Google One subscription. The credits are also gone in no time if you play around with it a little. That's 84,000 credits for one year.
I took about 10 pictures, including a little upscaling and so on, and have already used up almost 2,000 credits.
In other words, if I extrapolate that and have to play around with different visuals for customer orders, everything will be used up after about 40-50 attempts (because you usually need more than just one attempt).

It's also still unclear whether you can cancel the subscription in advance or not. Or whether you'll be blocked immediately. Because for me, it's not a normal Essential subscription, but with the addition of “Trail,” which means that after cancellation, it's over, even though I paid for 1 year... There is no information on this yet.

Otter.ai is also a disappointment, unfortunately.
Yes, it records conversations and yes, it also makes a transcript. BUT I am German and the tool apparently records my German conversations and translates them into English. The summary afterwards is also complete nonsense.
So I'm very disappointed here too.

I can't comment on the other two tools.
But Freepik and Otter are both disappointing, and even though it was “only” around 35 euros for Plus membership, it would have been one of the first apps I would have returned immediately.
