Q: Hello, 1.

I have purchased your deal and would like to know if you will add more free brokers who don't charge for trading. For example, I use Robinhood to trade my stocks, options and Cryptos (Bitcoin, Lite coin, Ethereum and Ethereum classic)

So let's say if I want to continue trading on Robinhood, how should I think about using your solution, can I design and test trading strategies in Aikido and then execute actual trades in Robinhood. If yes, how will it benefit me, means I know price of 15 stocks (can observe it from Robinhood) and then put them in portfolio in Aikido, and then do what, see a pie chart but how is it beneficial?

2. In my crypto trading experience, I fail to understand what strategy can one adopt when it is all dip. Does your algorithm consider some kind of macro economic factors like 'regulation of crypto currencies', for example recently India introduced a law where Crypto currencies transactions will be taxed at 30% with no provision to offset loses. Similarly current US administration is talking about taxing unrealized gains for a certain section of society.

3. It seems, Crypto exchanges you mentioned also charge some kind of transaction fees, is this correct?

4. I tried to understand interactive brokers and Alpaca pricing structure in comparison to Robinhood but the pricing to trade stocks, and cryptos is not clear to me. I don't know if you cater to ETFs or not. Can you share your insights and also clarify what kind of Alpaca integration you will be offering, It seems Alpaca is offering some kind of data API.

5. Is it safe to say that your algorithms consider portfolio sensitivity computations, and what do you mean by profit rebalancing. Can you algorithm sell/buy a stock or cryptos (if broker is integrated) and if yes, what about options, also based on what underlying principle, algorithm will engage in these transactions?

I also would like to know concept of 'back testing' in context of developing strategies using data in your solution, what latest information can I see apart from what is there in Robinhood and can't you integrate Robinhood (if they have open API, do they have?)

6. Since you have used word quantitative finance, it seems your vision to bring quantitative trading practices to retail investors, do you plan to cater to only crypto and stocks as asset classes or will you expand to ETFs, bonds, Gold, Forex and Options as well.

Also I would like to understand your definition of quantitative finance in context of Aikido solution.

Thanks

A: "1. I looked at interactive brokers plan, thinking may be I can start using them (instead of Robinhood), to use Aikido functionality. It seems they have lot of plans, so what may be best plan at optimum price to use Aikido."

What plans are you seeing? If i'm understanding you correctly, go with IBKR pro and simply select a personal account.

"2. Similarly suggest me which crypto exchange and their plan may be best from quality and cost perspective in context of using Aikido. I want to look at that instead of using Robinhood or in parallel to using Robinhood."

Hard to recommend a crypto exchange "from quality and cost perspective" as they are all so similar. It is just a matter of preference, and it is so easy to integrate them and swap between them that you can change at any time.

I personally use multiple: Binance, Kraken then coinbase pro.. mostly for selection of coins and ease of transferring money (for my case)

But obviously it's best that you pick what suits you best!

Hey there!

1. We may integrate Robinhood in the future. Though right now they have no public API that we cant connect with which means right now they are off the cards. If you want to use Robinhood, you can create a 'manual' portfolio in Aikido which will allow you to follow along in whichever broker you like. I will say that Interactive Brokers fees are very good (https://youtu.be/CTNk2TSIDg8)

2. The crypto strategies we will be bringing out will initially focus on technicals and volume. We have no shorting strategies just yet but will be adding them. Our crypto strategies, like all our strategies are a long-term approach to quant investing

3. Yes all crypto exchanges charge fees

4. We are currently working on the Alpaca integration, it is not live just yet. Currently just IBKR. Alpaca are zero fees, IBKR are low fees. But IBKR FX will likely be better. You will have to check their website for specifics!

5. You rebalance your Aikido portfolio every month (or so, depending on the strategy). Some stocks/shares are bought/sold to keep the portfolio inline with the algorithm (ie. the current screen of companies)

Backtesting is the simulated testing of how a strategy would have performed historically. We have backtests from 2000.

6. We will absolutely be adding ETFs - later this year. Options, futures, fx are less certain - perhaps next year :)

Hope all of that helps!
Great questions bro,

Shane

Hello,

See this link, https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=45500

and

https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=commission

it is so confusing, I am not able to understand what is the pricing structure. It seems Aikido for time being will work only with Stocks listed on IBKR pro (may be later on you may add additional asset classes in future). The problem is I don't see personal plan, I rather see that even pro plan is segmented into two parts: tiered and Fixed.

For example in Robinhood, I just swipe to buy something looking at their price and doing some other research outside tool. In context of IBKR pro, I am not understanding what is the pricing structure, so help me in understanding it in context of using Aikido.

Thanks
