Q: Hello, This seems like an interesting product.

I have a few questions:
1. I live in the UK where we have something called ISA, that lets you save/invest up to £20k tax free each year. IB have an ISA account. Would that work with Aikido?

2. It is a bit unclear for me how does the stock investing works. Let say I start investing with a $2k initial investment on a strategy that rebalances quarterly. However, I also want to keep putting $250 each month towards the strategy. Would that work? Or would the extra money be invested only on the next quarter?

3. Do you chose the stocks or me?

Thanks

So fractional shares is something we would love to eventually offer, but at the moment our main integration partner Interactive Brokers does not offer, and thus, neither do we.

And yes, you would be correct, for shares that are 1000+, the initial invested amount would certainly need to be higher. (This is usually why companies with high stock prices engage in stock splits, to increase accessibility.. which you may have already known).

But we will certainly be having more conversations around this soon, thanks for expressing your interest in it. It's this kind of active feedback from the community that we absolutely love as it allows us to steer the product where we know people want it to go!

Hopefully this helped :) If you’ve any more questions or suggestions please feel free to reach out! (We even have a discord you can join -> discord.gg/pfrKN3KRUe ) and if you like what you see from Aikido, then an honest review on our Appsumo page massively helps us out as we are a small startup trying to do big things! :) appsumo.com/products/aikido-finance/

Hey Marine

Hello,

1. I believe you should be able to use your IBKR ISA account with Aikido - I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

2. Yes this exact scenario works. At each rebalance you can choose to add more money to the portfolio (eg. add $250 per month to your portfolio). If the rebalancing is quarterly, this would normally be done each quarter. However you can rebalance at any time you like by clicking the 'rebalance' button, so you can add funds whenever you like.

3. The algorithm spits out the stocks that 'currently fit the bill' - a strategy will contain 15 stocks. Aikido doesn't 'choose' the stocks, the list that appears is completely dynamic.

Hope that all helps! :)

Thanks a lot for tour answer.

I have one more question, if I may. I saw that you only work with whole shares. How does this work with shares that cost 100s or 1000s? The portfolio sum should be in tens of 1000s in that case. Also why not fractional?

Thanks!
