Airmeet's Broken Promise: Lifetime Deal Revoked Without Any Compensation
I'm writing this review with deep frustration and a sense of betrayal. When I purchased a "lifetime deal" for Airmeet through AppSumo, I was promised 1,000 free registrations per month, with a fee of $1 for any participant over that amount. This deal was a significant investment, and I trusted Airmeet to honor these terms. However, they've now revoked the lifetime deal completely and introduced a pay-per-attendee model with a fee of $4 per attendee—without offering any free participants at all.
This drastic change is not only disappointing but also feels incredibly unfair. The original terms were clear, and now, without any clear explanation, they're asking us to pay significantly more than initially agreed upon. Going from $1 per extra participant to $4 is a huge leap, and I can't understand how Airmeet justifies this increase. It's a far cry from the 1,000 free participants per month we were promised.
As someone who recently became an AppSumo Plus member, I had hoped this might offer some level of consideration or priority in resolving issues like this. Unfortunately, it seems to have made no difference. While I still value AppSumo as a marketplace, this experience with Airmeet has been a sobering reminder that even "lifetime deals" can be abruptly altered or revoked.
At this point, the only fair resolution would be for Airmeet to offer a full refund to all early backers. If that isn't possible, the least they could do is provide at least 100 free participants per month to honor some part of the original agreement. Anything less would be a further breach of trust.
I urge Airmeet to reconsider their approach and do right by their early supporters. For anyone else considering their platform, be cautious: what you're promised may not be what you end up getting.
