Having resolved the issue of redeeming my code after inadvertently setting up an account when signing up for the AppSumo Walkthrough, I created my first Airmeet event yesterday, and ran it today.

It had to be short notice given the aforementioned challenges with logging in. That said, the event was smooth and seamless both for me as the Host/Organiser, and for the attendees who were tech savvy, and willing to press a few buttons. At the live event, there was initial confusion about how to join the Main Session; attendees expected it to be like Zoom, where the main screen is right there upon logging in, however once everyone had read the Chat, and made their way over, it all worked perfectly. I think a few were on mobile devices, which may have caused issues.

Attendees commented they preferred the UI of Airmeet over Zoom, and that the Lounge networking tables felt more real and intimate, and worked better than the Zoom Breakout Rooms. They are all looking forward to me hosting an Airmeet speed dating event!

It was easy to start the Session, and there is a pause button if you need to take a break from the Main Stage. Not sure if that leaves a gap in the final recording, I’m assuming it doesn't, but I haven't downloaded the file event yet.

I've used at least 6 different Webinar platforms to run events, workshops, and coaching sessions, and, once the bugs are ironed out, and the deal terms clarified, Airmeet could potentially be up there as one of my favourites.

A big change I would suggest is being able to set the booths up beforehand, because it can take a while to get the links and uploads in place, as you will see from my demo walkthrough. A fellow Sumoling shared the fix of 'opening' the event; the downside to that is attendees can wander in, which is what happened to me, and I was somewhat taken aback to see them in the Chat last night while I was setting up. I believe it also stops people from registering for the event while it is open.

I would also like the option to rename the 'Session' and call it 'Main Stage', because that is what most event organisers call it here, when running in-person Expos and events.

Airmeet has a lot of potential for event organisers, coaches, trainers, and consultants like myself.

Overall, as it stands, I am awarding 4 tacos. Once the issues above, and those reported to Support are fixed and clarified, it moves to a 5.
