After paying for this, spending the time to create the course in Airschool, and waiting almost a week for their team to "review" my course, I sent an email asking why they were taking so long to approve and publish the class. Airschool stated that they would not publish courses with guest speakers unless the speaker is sitting next to the host in the same room! Nothing about this requirement was stated BEFORE I paid for and created the course. SO much time and money wasted! I hope they actually refund my money. This was more than disappointing.
I am sure there is a huge demand for platforms like this. Airschool’s competitors (the ones I know of) charge a monthly fee that teachers have to pay in order to offer their courses. This might keep many people away from getting started. The business model of Airschool is smart by allowing anyone to create courses and taking a cut in the sale. In contrast to other LMS solutions (that have problems getting traction), I believe that Airschool has better chances in succeeding by taking a piece of the pie and letting anyone sell courses, instead of charging teachers a subscription fee.
Apart from their business model their UI/UX design is better than others, but still quite away far from the market leaders. In the official course "How to create your online course", I noticed that there is a huge UX problem with the players – the play-icon (in the center of a video) cannot be clicked. You have to click outside of the icon, super buggy experience. Technically this is a very quick fix and I am sure that they will solve it soon. But I am worried that these kinds of UX issues exist. I would not expect a UX issue this serious to exist undetected for multiple days.
What I hope they improve on: - Better UI/UX design, getting rid of problems as explained above - Clear payment rules, ideally they would act as a merchant of record, so teachers can concentrate on creating courses and don’t have to care about paying taxes. At least in the EU this is a big topic for people selling courses. If they do this right, they could get a lot of customers from competitors, that now pay a monthly fee.
I have 2 courses I am interested in creating, one in the travel world and one for domain name investing. I bet if you think of your interests you could come up with a couple of courses you could build yourself.
In our modern world, we know there are great opportunities online but we realize we do not have the skill sets needed. Airschool has taken away the need for years of programming and coding education.
Take a look at this offer and consider this. Will I ever get another chance to get a lifetime deal on such an in-depth course builder? Not only are you buying the builder but you are also gaining a new income source. An income that could last for years to come.
I jumped in. We could have a forum for those who are going to give this a try.
A question for Sinwan, can you comment on whether the output would work on Udemy or Skillshare? Dave Chandler Silent Domains
