No body request in the HTTP module - Why?
Having come from make.com, which just does the job perfectly well and provides developer support, Albato, as I see it, just doesn't hit the mark.
I gave this a go on another account I have access to, and found the HTTP module extremely frustrating. There was no request body section (which I'd usually just paste in the request JSON body). Instead, it appears as if each body individual parameter needs to be defined separately. This makes the whole process more complex while taking much longer.
While I'm sure it will be okay for some basic automations, the user interface is far from intuitive and in this day and age, some form of flow builder really is needed for more complex automations so you don't have to keep on changing screens. I really wanted to like Albato as they offer JavaScript built-in which is a useful function however if the platform itself is poorly laid out and missing basic things such as in simple HTTP request setup (which is an frequently used module) it's going to mean more of a hindrance than help.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's picked up on this particular flaw and in my opinion this type of thing, for one of the most commonly used modules should be absolutely perfect.

Sep 5, 2024Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. As I understand, your review isn't focused on Albato itself but rather on your opinion of Albato’s quality in comparison to competitors. It's sad, that you've rated the entire product with 2 tacos, considering that your feedback seems to address the convenience of its implementation relative to other systems rather than the actual performance of the module.
Regarding the HTTP module, configuring each parameter through buttons may, in some cases, not be as convenient as using a raw body. We are currently working on adding support for raw body in HTTP requests and plan to release this functionality by the end of the year. While this feature is in development, you can still use the HTTP module in its current form.
If you experience any issues with the module’s functionality, I would be happy to receive your feedback via email at nik@albato.com.
By the end of the year, we also plan to release an alternative mode for our builder, offering a more flexible workflow.
