Q: Wow, this feels like the long lost child of Picasa - one that we've been waiting for!

And that's why I have many questions :)

1) Do you have or will you add face detection like Picasa had?

2) Can you implement a feature to open and close the app in an instant? Like IrfanView does, it opens with minimal load, and closes with the ESC key. That way I open it, and close it in a snap a million times a day.

(Might be irrelevant to some, but it's super convenient for us working with tons of images daily - and one of the reasons why I used IrfanView for 20+ years)

3) Is there a way to backup and restore customizations and settings easily after reinstalling the computer? (Picasa added txt files in each indexed folder that held all data for it in case database gets corrputed or lost. Or formatted :)

4) You mentioned transcoding files - can you implement simple video cutting WITHOUT recompression?

Testamentum, I get the point. That is the reason why we added many ways to use your media files. You can simply drag them from MP into another software or copy and paste them. If you really need to access the file directly you can right click and select "Reveal in File Explorer". If you need to export the structure of folder and sub-folders with all the files you can simply right click on a folder and select the export function. But we are 100% open minded in adding additional features to make it easier

I understand what you are saying, but it is simply not an option. After years of meticulously organizing thousands of images into folders that make sense, I don't want to either lose twice the space or lose the neatly organized archives available in all other apps.

I understand what you mean and I get that the organization features might not be ideal for all the cases. Anyway MediaPlace is very new and we’re collecting feedback from users about the future development and this is definitely one we’ll take into consideration and we’ll try to find a way to allow to choose between duplicating files and indexing them.
But there are many additional features we’re working on like a Canva-like editor with tons of templates to quickly create images and videos, AI features to increase the image resolutions (almost ready), auto-tagging, image generation, text to speech. And many other ones.
The goal is to create an all-in-one software for all the media-related needs.
We are 100% committed in making it a great product but, as always happens with new software, there is much to do. We’ll do our best!
Thank you very much for your feedback. We really love to hear from users about their needs. This is definitely the best way to make MediaPlace a better software.
