Q: AI Credits

Hey Sebastian,

A couple of questions.

1. How does AI credit work? I mean what is 1 credit equal to and when is that deducted from the user's account?

2. If we run out of credits, is there an ability to purchase new credits to use the app?

3. If you say 15 cards are available, what if we use an existing workflow that has more than 15 cards already in it? Will it not create more than 15 and stop at 15 or any other scenario here?

4. Continuation to above point number 3, are we restricted to using cards available in the existing workflow if we want to use that? Let's say I used a YouTube workflow that has 15 cards, but I don't want some of the cards in that workflow and would like them to be replaced with other cards that I need. Can I do that?

A: Hey! Great questions—happy to clarify:

1. How AI Credits Work: AI credits refresh every 30 days from your purchase date, and different actions require different amounts of credits. For example, generating 4 images uses 32 credits, creating a short video clip costs 3 credits per download, and using AI Auto Crop for vertical platforms costs 6 credits. Each AI card shows its credit usage before you start. For more details on AI credits, check out this article: https://help.alphana.ai/en/articles/9574537-what-are-ai-credits-and-how-do-they-work

2. Purchasing Additional Credits: If you run out of credits before the 30-day renewal, the best way to get more credits is by upgrading to a higher plan.

3. Using Templates with More AI Cards than Your Limit: If you select a workflow template with more cards than your plan allows, the system will still generate the content. However, you won’t be able to add new cards unless you remove some, and you won’t be able to save a template if it has more AI cards than your plan limit.

4. Customizing Templates with Card Limits: Yes, you can use a system template with more AI cards than your limit and delete the ones you don’t need. Once it’s within your card limit, you’ll be able to save it as a new template.

5. For "Hours of video upload per month=5" and "Video hour(s) per upload=2", how does it count? So here we have 5 hours of video upload allowed per month, and at the time 2 hours of video can be uploaded. So what if I upload 30 mins video? will it count for 2 hours or will it count for 30 mins and let me use the rest of the 4 hours 30 mins of the month?

The 5 hours per month is a monthly cap for video uploads, while each individual upload can be up to 2 hours. If you upload a 30-minute video, it only counts as 30 minutes, leaving you with 4 hours and 30 minutes remaining for the month.

6. If I use the same video for different iterations using different templates, will it count separate processing of the minutes? So if I use a 30-minute videos by uploading and selecting a YouTube template and then the same video for another template lets say coaching workflow then will it count as 1 hour or 30 mins? Also what about credits in this case?

Yes, each template counts as a separate processing, so a 30-minute video used in two templates will count as 1 hour (30 mins + 30 mins) toward your monthly limit. Credits are also deducted each time a template processes the video based on the AI cards used. In the future, we plan on having a way to reuse media. 1. "Each AI card shows its credit usage before you start." Can you clarify more on this further? Where and at what time can I see them? When do I start the task or after finishing the task inside a project?

2. Are you planning to introduce additional credit purchases separately in the future?

1. Sorry, let me clarify. You can view estimated AI credit usage in the bottom left corner of the sidebar or when creating a new project. Clicking it opens an overlay with details on AI credit usage and limits. Since each video is unique (word count, token usage, etc.), exact credit usage is calculated after processing.

Yes, we’re working on a way to purchase additional credits directly in the future. If you think you might need more credits sooner rather than later, I would encourage you to get the higher tier to ensure you have what you need. The AppSumo deal will always be better than what we'll offer in our product. ;-)

7. Are you planning to introduce carry forward for unused credits in a respective month to a subsequent month?

We currently don’t have plans to carry forward unused credits. Credits refresh every 30 days and reset if not used.

thanks for clarifying Sebastian. Appreciate it.

8. Do you provide Bring-your-own-key feature to bring in our own API keys for OpenAI, Perplexity, Claude, or Bard?

Only with OpenAI. We haven't decided if the BYOK feature will come out with other providers yet but we do plan on integrating other providers in the future.

So since you provide BYOK for OpenAI, will i have to separately pay to openAI as well in addition to credits on your platform? OR in this case credits won't be charged?

Using BYOK means you’ll pay OpenAI directly for certain tasks, & we won’t charge credits for those. But, some actions, like transcription, video downloads, & other future features, still use Alphana AI credits. You’ll manage both accounts separately. Note: you may have issues w/ OpenAI’s rate limits. Learn more: help.alphana.ai/en/articles/9807604-how-to-use-your-own-openai-api-key-in-alphana-byok

Thanks Again Sebastian for all those answers. I am ready to buy now. 😉

Just a final question.
Can you please clarify - "you may have issues w/ OpenAI’s rate limits."

I didn't get the point here. What issues are we referring to here?

Sounds great! AppSumo doesn’t allow much room to add here. OpenAI has rate limits for accounts based on spend. Our account is at the highest tier but you may not be depending on your usage. Which means creating content in bulk could trigger your limits quickly with OpenAI. And that will cause things to fail in Alphana. It’s just something to be aware of if it happens. Make sense?

Gotcha. Does make sense. and that's fine.

9. Do you plan to introduce Content analyzer that will analyze the produced content and give it a score based on Readability and AI Content Detector?

We don't have a concrete plan for that yet, but I encourage you to add it to our feedback board since we use it to help us prioritize things. feedback.alphana.ai

10. In continuation to 9, if it does detect content to be written by Ai or readability not as per the mechanism of commonly used Hemingway's approach (You can use any other, doesn't matter), what is the possibility for the introduction of Humanizing that content using Phrasly AI or similar integrations directly in your app where users just will humanize and it will do the job?

Great question. Our long-term goal is for the content that is produced never to sound AI-generated and always humanized. We have different approaches we're considering, but don't have anything concrete I can share right now. Meanwhile, you can achieve more humanized writing by customizing your custom instructions and the prompts.
