When you read the description on the Product Page and then you open Alter, you realize how far off the write-up is... and that's a good thing.

I've purchased probably 3 dozen deals over the past 10 years - this software is unlike anything I've ever seen.

I mainly purchased because of the transcript and dictation function (I was just about to sign-up for Whisp when I saw this deal).

I've now played with it for hours and haven't even gotten to the transcript/dictation because this thing is so unbelievably awesome.

First, you go thru a little onboarding chat - it asks about your work, background, etc. I pasted 3 URLs in, next thing I know its taken control of my browser, opened and analyzed all 3 sites and returned to the Alter app with a complete breakdown of what I do, who I am, what I struggle with.

It only gets better from there.

And I LOVE that it is a software that you download on your Mac.

I would say 1/4 to 1/3 of the deals I've purchased have gone out of business, ceased to exist. At least with a software, even if they stop updating it, you still have the software.

And I'll tell ya, even if they did nothing else, this thing is SOOOOOO worth the small one-time purchase.

Don't tell them, but knowing what I know now - I would've easily paid 3x for it.

This is going to completely change how I interact with my Mac.

I can't describe it - its just awesome.

Key things I LOVE:
- actual software you download on your computer (instead of an app that could disappear tomorrow)
- keyboard shortcuts to everything
- uses local LLM model for voice dictation so costs nothing (and its still really, really good)
- record adn transcribe meetings/calls (without having to add your Otter/Firefly to the Zoom meeting directly).
- I'm using it to transcribe, summarize and create follow-up emails to phone calls with clients since it can do all that thru your Mac microphone automatically

I've had this deal less than 8 hours.

Just get it.

Forget the AppSumo product description - it does not even come close to describing what this thing really is.

This is the future of how we will interact with our computers. Period. Hard stop.

I purchased this and immediately connected it to all of my google suite apps, my go high level account, google ads, emails, dartAI, asana, etc. now it can do virtually anything including control the browser if I need something. Essentially, it's an assistant that can do anything for you. You just hover over the icon or hit the hotkey and ask it to do whatever - and it can do it. Really impressive app.

I’ve explored many AI clients, but this isn’t just another AI wrapper. Alter is in a league of its own (check the demos of Robert J. P. Oberg in YT) and honestly one of the best investments I’ve made on AppSumo. If you’re a Mac user looking to profit from the latest AI advancements (Ambient context, AI dictation Agents, etc..) with an intuitive and ergonomic interface, this is the tool to get.

What makes Alter stand out is its incredible flexibility (either using router model or BYOK). It’s a user-friendly, feature-rich app that is continuously evolving alongside AI industry trends and it puts the latest tech to work for you. For instance, the straightforward configuration of MCP tools, third-party integrations, and agents within the platform makes creating and using custom workflows incredibly efficient.

The best part? The founders are incredibly reactive and receptive. They are constantly shipping new features based on user feedback, and their communication is top (frequent video updates in YT with how-to-use examples are a lifesaver). On top of that, the Discord community is highly engaging.
