I use VooPlayer myself and I have spent hours trying to download HLS encrypted videos and googling solutions. Have tried everything from browser plugins, Mac apps to commandline code on Github. Nothing has been succesful. I you could implement something similar it would excellent.

If you can download this, please let me know how so I report that issue to VooPlayer. Because that's a major issue when you think your videos are protected.
But I get your request. We have DRM on our roadmap, that should cover your need.
I cannot tell how I did it, sorry :) look it is a stream and there is always a way to grep a stream It is not a fault of the vooPlayer at all, It is how internet is build. It is simply almost impossible to protect the videos. If it was you can be sure YouTube or Vimeo.... would already have it.

Happy to hear you have DRM on the way. My point was that most people would not be able to download a video stream protected with HLS (only screen record). I’m a pretty technical user and I've tried to do this with VooPlayer videos. Every Chrome and Firefox plugin I’ve tried (I’ve tried all I could find), jDownloader, Waltr and all download managers I tried on Mac, could not. Even if 0,1% might be able to work around it or might screen record, it would still be hugely useful and effective for the 99,9% who can’t.
Yes you are right. A "normal" user cannot just download them. The fact that we are deep into that things is maybe the main reason I know how to do it.
