Alugha was born out of necessity. The whole idea goes way back when I produced tutorial videos in German on a famous video platform and accumulated millions of views. But the more my audience grew, the more requests to offer my videos in other languages I received.

I realized that video translation is a nerve-wracking and time-consuming procedure. To add insult to injury there wasn't even a video player on the market that could support multiple language tracks in one single video.

In an increasingly globalized world, I couldn’t be the only one facing this issue, so in 2014 I was prompted to launch a small tech-startup in the heart of Germany with one simple goal: “Roll up our sleeves and create a multilingual video platform that breaks language barriers.”
