Loving it and I'm actually using it!
It's taken me a few days to get this set up and feeling comfortable with it. What I really like is the ability to truly customize the way I like to work. There are so many options/plugins they call strategies to choose from and integrate. It's like a productivity candy store. So far nearly everything I have been looking for all in one app! What a dream. And if I decide I want to change my approach or my workflow changes for some reason, Amazing Marvin (AM) is ready to adjust with just a few clicks. So far I'm just scratching the surface. My top favorite things right now are being able to forward (Gmail) email right into the Inbox so I can assign a task into the right category/project, the Pomodoro timer (still figuring out if I can start the timer within a task versus clicking the timer option so I can tie the Pomodoro to the individual task), top three projects, focus mode, and the ease of rescheduling incompleted task from the day before. I'm looking forward to a better mobile experience. There's some quirkiness with two-way sync to Google Cal. When I add an event to my Calendar (Fantastical synced to Google Calendar) like a time block for an activity it sometimes shows up in AM as either a task or an event. I can't figure out how MA deciphers if the time block is one or the other. Anyway, the most important thing is I'm using it and implementing fast and that rarely happens with me. Looking forward to mastering MA and seeing what's ahead. Great job Christina and Mark. AM is easily one of favorite AppSumo deals!

May 9, 2024Wow, thanks so much for your review! I am so happy to hear you are enjoying your time with Marvin and were able to jump into it so quickly! :)
New mobile apps are coming late this winter. Top priority at the moment.
About the calendar sync, if an item is recurring on your calendar it comes in as an event. It cannot come in as a task if that is the option you selected. We recommend setting up recurring tasks in Marvin itself. And syncing that to the calendar or not.
You can also have them come in as time blocks, if you use the Marvin time blocking strategy, Sounds like maybe that is how you are using the calendar time block. In that case recurring and non recurring items will come in as time blocks. Hope that helped!
