The MacGyver of PM Apps - Or - My Favorite Marvin
As far as ToDo/PM Apps, I've run the gamut - Omnifocus, Things, ToDoist, TickTick, yadda, yadda, yadda...and none of them really scratched the itch. I found that these apps were either far too complicated and full of feature bloat (ala ClickUp - Oh, add that to the list!) with no real direction of what they wanted to grow up to be
-- OR --
They adopted the Steve Jobs minimalism-as-sophistication mantra, sacrificing needed features for aesthetics and trend-value.
I was pleasantly surprised to find Marvin like none of the above. Aside from the name (sorry, not a big fan), Marvin doesn't disappoint in the feature department and includes amazing strategies and workflows that are easily imported with the flip of switch. If you rely on 3-2-1, GTD, or any other acronym to manage your projects, Marvin has it - and more. The best part: Turn on only the features you like/want/need/crave at the time, and, when your workflow changes (because it always does), Marvin is one step ahead of you.
To boot, when I had an issue with a specific workflow, Christina was all over it; on a Sunday, like a boss. Fantastic customer service (taking notes Culture Code?)!
This is not to say that Marvin needs some help - namely in the mobile app department. But they know this and have fast-tracked a new mobile app in the next 3 months or so. Normally this would be a deal-breaker for me, but with the rich "turn on what you need feature set, coupled with amazing customer support, I don't mind the wait at all.
Why this is not paid is beyond me. I, for one, look forward to fully supporting Christina and the Marvin team - deal or no deal.
Keep up the great work!
