Q: File size?
I tried to upload a PDF of 130 pages and it said "file size too large".
Most of my files are this large or larger.
Nowhere here or in the app or the website does it mention file or page length limits.
Please let us know what the limits are, and if you are going to increase them. NotebookLM has basically unlimited file size.

May 8, 2025A: NotebookLM is a powerful tool that we are learning from as well.
Due to the limitations of the AI model we use, we have limited the maximum support for PDF text content to 15K.
Thank you for your feedback, we're also considering support for larger file sizes, so look forward to it.

Ok thanks. Large text limits are important for many people. No AI software is that useful to me without it. Google Gemini (for example) is dirt cheap now for massive text and extremely good, but I would also be fine with a BYOK option as an alternative.

Are you talking 15k characters or words can I ask?
It is currently 15K characters. We are already working on optimizing this issue and expect to release significant improvements in June.
