Q: Hello Sumo-lings!
Greg here, from Analytics Bar! So excited to be launching on AppSumo!
A little background...Analytics Bar started as a really simple idea to put real-time Google Analytics active users in your menu bar and has quickly grown to become a pretty robust and extremely convenient tracking tool. As a creator, I typically have about 5 or more websites I monitor and very much hate having to go into Google Analytics for getting a birds eye view of all my sites and even more bothersome logging into other accounts to view all other account traffic as well. So the idea came to me "Hey, why not have the ability to see everything in my menu bar?" That would make things so easy, right? So that's exactly what I did. I created the ability to see any and all sites metrics on my menu bar at once.
Analytics Bar is extremely secure, simple to setup and allows linking to other accounts very easily! Rest assured that Analytics Bar has absolutely zero data being shared. The tool is simply a user interface between your computer and Google Analytics API's and nothing more. There is no third party server routing information or anything like that. It's 100% isolated with your machine:) That's the beauty of Analytics Bar!
One of the coolest things I like about Analytics Bar is the ability to see live users dropping in. I simply click on the count in the menu bar and instantly see a table of information of where users are coming from (e.g. source, referral path, country, active count, etc.). I can dig even further by expanding query builder, choosing wide combinations of dimensions and metrics (even more so than Google Analytics allows on their site) to see relevant stats like tracked events.
Of course you're not locked in with only viewing real-time users. You can place any metric in the menu bar like bounce backs, total users, revenue, etc. anything.
You might be thinking "...man, it would be so cool if I could see previous week comparison percentages with this tool". Oh, but yes you can! You can even drill down to the hour of the day with Analytics Bar. If you've spent enough time on Google Analytics you know there can be a delay for sites with a lot of traffic. To solve this you can place a time buffer to track starting a couple hours ago to ensure you have the most accurate stats.
Additionally, Analytics Bar offers a metrics dashboard for filtering your stats even further (e.g. US only, non-US only, mobile, desktop, etc. anything you'd like to filter on). You can easily toggle this dashboard via clicking on your sites logo in the menu bar. Logo in the menu bar? Oh yeah, did I mention it has this awesome feature of showcasing your sites logo right next to your stats displayed in the menu bar! It's pretty cool.
Thank you so much Sumo-lings! Let the power begin!
Note: Currently, Universal Analytics is required. If you're only using GA4, you will need to add UA which is pretty simple to add.
