Probably Legitimately 3 Tacos Right Now
...that being said, I can easily see how this could become a 5 taco deal!
Andromo looks to be a very easy-to-use platform for building a quick&dirty app. The UX/UI is super slick and intuitive. The app does seem more oriented toward simple content delivery--and possibly opportunities to sell you more services (more on that in a bit). They have a very powerful framework for being able to go from simple drag-and-drop to building some really nice device-side custom content (assuming you know how to code). THIS may be the best reason to buy Andromo. They also have a super cool gallery of templates so if you don't know what you want, they'll help you find something that is along the lines of what you're looking for.
That being said, there is a dearth of native components. Pretty much all of their integrations are through third parties--from whom you have to buy services. The authentication piece (and other login-centric stuff) is through Firebase. The chat piece is through Zendesk. Push notifications require a subscription to OneSignal, etc. So very little in the way of cool add-ons are native. Others have pointed out that Andromo lacks native ways to bring in dynamic content (API/Webhooks/etc)--and the Andromo website would lead you to believe that this was built in.
Some features just leave you scratching your head: "why?" Take the QR Code Reader component for instance. It apparently is a component does just that, but there does not seem to be any way to harness the logic and use it for decisions or branching.
One other head-scratcher is: since they are built around Flutter, why not let devs download the generated Flutter code? It would be a great prototyping platform. It looks like, from the website, that you might be able to add Flutter code in on a custom page but I haven't gotten that far yet.
Documentation is "eh" but maybe it is just me. I'm "eh" too!
I am also a bit concerned that many of the answers to many of the questions seem to be along the lines of "no, but we'll be glad to develop it and sell it to you as an add-on." This always concerns me a bit, but I have hopes that as the product continues under development that they'll add new components for Sumolings who have already bought plans!
But so far, I'm cautiously impressed. I think I'll hang around a bit and see where this product goes. There might be opportunities to help improve their reviews on things like Trustpilot and G2.
