Review after 1 year+ of Use
So first, I bought Arolex for another website that came with what would become Animation Addon. Thus, I've seen the development and changes as they moved to a more stand-alone product and focussed even more heavily on Gsap.
The animation builder has quirks and if you have used Motion Page it doesn't really compare well.
In the past it was painful to load but they have done a lot to fix that and loading issues arent a problem anymore. They cover most of what you would need in terms of traditional and more modern blocks. Obviously, their ability to let you implement GSAP animations is a huge plus.
The cons:
- Most new themes will have GSAP - thus this can cause problems with Animation Addons especially if you want to use the Sticky feature or fixed in a traditional sense. The reason being is that even though you can turn off all the GSAP scripts - scroll motion will generally still load. If it does not load, but you want to load one of these other scripts they bunch into Smooth Scroller which do not need Smooth Scroller to work, it will automatically enable Smooth Scroller, I am unsure why they do this. Examples would be GSAP libraries for text animation and image animation - now some of these they use words that don't mention the script but I assume for text its split text etc. Neither of these need Smooth Scroller to be turned on to work but it forces you to. Thus, if you have a theme that already has smooth scroller you will need to turn off your theme version. However, if you don't want smooth scroller as packed with GSAP due to it causing issues with fixed and sticky elements, you will have to actually go in and find the smooth scroller the plugin adds and unenque it or go to the file and delete it - obviously the first way in a child theme will be the best.
They also now have the option to load all the various GSAP scripts, so another possible way to bypass the smooth scroller issue is to make sure nothing is turned on in extensions for GSAP and then just check off the scripts you need - this may work (you will have to check).
- Now, the Animation Addons Template library is very good compared to most others. However, I have purchased other themes and even in this one, they say new blocks / sections every week or something to that effect and very rarely have I seen any new blocks. Sometimes I see a refined design or something but it would be great to have fresh blocks once a month using latest trends. There are very few bento boxes, it is hard to figure out the functionality the block will have ie. if you are looking for a stacked layer block - good luck. Anything speciality is difficult to discern without going to another window to preview it and hoping when you press return back to library it will have kept the location you were at so you dont have to scroll forever (I dont know for sure, but I do not think all the blocks have categories assigned to it & even if they do it is difficult to figure out what they would be) - I just know when I look at all, I see things that I did not when using filters but it just takes a ton of time.
- They should have a GSAP filter and blocks that are specifically using scroll motion and other techniques that are used a lot. For instance, on their website - they have a stacked card content layout they use for each page - but you cannot find a place to download or paste this because its not included in the library or on the site. These are the types of GSAP designs people like me would want - obviously we could create it ourselves but there are things that you may do that don't have the option on the basic controls you give for that GSAP function or you would have to strip things down.
Horizontal scroll, vetical stacked cards, pinned center with images or other on the side, a small circle that then expands to take over a background, quality bento layouts, floating elements that contract into a button, option for split text by character or word (like UI Core) and also ThemeRex has a good template library.
The Good:
- They are improving which is always a good sign.
- If you go to the website, you can use the feature to either download a json or copy an element / design and then put it on your website (this I think is better than the template library in terms of ease of use & it is definitely the best copy/paste system I seen on Elementor)
- Never used the support but I believe its better than normal
- Doing any of the above and just creating else/if type statements that can look to see if something is already loaded & only loading assets used will all make this even better.
My hope is they continue to focus on designs for the plugins vs selling themes. But overall a solid buy for anyone with WordPress. 4/5

Dec 15, 2025Hi Districtraj,
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such a detailed and thoughtful review. We really appreciate hearing from someone who has been using our products for over a year and has experience with multiple animation tools. Your insights are incredibly valuable to us.
We’re glad to hear that the plugin’s loading performance has improved and that you find the GSAP integration and template library useful. At the same time, we completely understand your points regarding potential conflicts with other themes, Smooth Scroller, and the need for more easily discoverable and categorized blocks. Your suggestions about having GSAP-specific filters, more advanced layouts, and fresh blocks regularly are well noted — these are exactly the kind of improvements we are looking to prioritize in future updates.
We also appreciate your positive comments about the copy/paste system and our ongoing efforts to enhance the plugin. Feedback like yours helps us focus on making Animation Addons even better for users who rely on it for both creativity and functionality.
Thank you again for your thoughtful review and your continued support. We’ll keep working hard to make Animation Addons the best tool it can be.
Best regards,
Animation Addons Team
