Solid omnichannel platform with huge potential—needs deeper CRM customization, contact sync, and thread controls
We have been using AnyChat integrated with our custom CRM for several months to manage client communications across WhatsApp (QR), Instagram, and Facebook Messenger from a centralized dashboard.
The core system delivers well on basic messaging aggregation and webhook architecture. However, to become an indispensable, top-tier solution for sales teams, there are a few key feature gaps and workflow friction points that need to be addressed:
1. Better Thread Management (Stop Auto-Archiving Bot Chats!):
When the automated bot interacts or replies to a lead, the conversation often gets archived or displaced from the main active inbox. Bot-handled threads must stay explicitly visible in a dedicated status tab (e.g., "Bot Active" or "Pending Review") until a human agent manually marks the lead as resolved or archived.
2. Contact Identity & Google Contacts / Gmail Sync:
There is a strong need for direct integration with Google Contacts / Gmail API to resolve raw phone numbers or social handles (@username) against our team's contact address book. Syncing contact names automatically would make the inbox experience significantly more personalized and organized.
3. Native Support for @usernames (Phoneless Messaging):
As WhatsApp and social platforms shift towards username handles without exposing traditional phone numbers, AnyChat should seamlessly support starting chats, sending attachments, and linking leads using handles alone, without hard-requiring a numeric phone number.
4. Deeper CRM Customization & Automated Follow-Up Engine:
We would love to see more native customization for CRM workflows:
Automated Sequences: Triggering scheduled follow-ups (e.g., sending an automatic re-engagement message 24–48 hours after a quote is sent if the customer hasn't replied).
Flexible Auto-Replies & Snippets: A more customizable auto-responder system supporting rich media (PDFs, images, and quick-reply templates) tailored to specific lead stages.
5. Transparent Monthly Reports on System Stability & Product Improvements:
As AnyChat continues to mature, it would be extremely valuable for agency owners and team leads to receive a monthly report or digest. Having a structured breakdown covering platform uptime/stability metrics, newly deployed feature improvements, and upcoming roadmap items would help us keep our clients informed and demonstrate the ongoing value of the system.
Verdict:
AnyChat is a robust product with a great foundation. If the roadmap includes Google Contacts integration, better thread preservation for bot interactions, deeper automated follow-up tools, and regular improvement reports, it will easily become the ultimate gold standard for omnichannel client management.
