Q: Like everyone else, clicking "get now for free" (there's no add to cart button) it just takes you to an empty cart.
I've emailed them but seems like an appsumo website issue.

Thanks Haley, your steps in the email outline the most basic steps of a checkout process (1. Go to deal, 2. Add to Cart -> Proceed to Checkout -> Fill in Data -> Continue Checkout, 3. Entire details on ApproveMe to receive access).
As mentioned in my email and the many other comments here, the deal does not add to cart. When clicking on "Get Now For Free" you are taken to the cart which is empty.
I imagine if this is the kind of support that's received (templated responses ignoring the information given) it might explain the frustrations and lack of positive comments recently.
It's likely an AppSumo problem since it's their site not adding to cart, but when being told the item doesn't add to the cart, getting a "help" response of "Hey! Just add it to cart and check out" is kinda pointless
