Q: What's the point of putting opensource on Appsumo❓
ajafferyPLUSGood point we are taking what Sumo-lings search for and providing information on the tool. Thought is that when Sumo-lings compare tools we can provide them as much helpful context as possible on site. However, can see how it would be confusing.
What would you find helpful in making product decisions when there is a free tool available?

I for one am glad that you created this great product page for Audacity. I had completely forgotten about this free open source tool when I was looking for an audio editor that was better than the one I could find in my video editor.
I get the question "why show it here?" but I also see that there are other free things on the AppSumo website that members can enjoy and it's a bit of fresh air to not have to pay for something here and there.
