A Minor Consideration:

The library is well-stocked for most needs, but if you require extremely niche, avant-garde music genres, you might need to look elsewhere. For 95% of everyday project needs, it has everything you could want and more.

It's hard to criticize AudioHero... and yet, it's the first deal on AppSumo that I'm not satisfied with.

Does it deliver on its promise in terms of features and the number of songs/effects available? Yes. But AudioHero is, in my opinion, the perfect example of “quantity does not equal quality.” Most of the tracks are very repetitive (especially deep house and tropical house styles), and since the number of artists is extremely limited (I only found two…), you end up going round in circles: I feel like I'm listening to the same music 10 times over with only a few variations. It's quite tedious, ultimately.

What's more, the quality of the tracks... well, let's just say they're “meh.” Coming from Epidemic Sound, AudioHero is frankly a big step down! I don't understand the 5-tacos reviews (which I trust) from those who compare AudioHero to Artlist or Epidemic Sound: they're clearly not in the same league!

Next, let's talk about the interface: my goodness, it's outdated and ugly! Honestly, in 2025, make an effort! And simplicity isn't AudioHero's strong suit either: I've never seen it so complicated just to add music to a playlist.

So, to come back to my first sentence: it's very difficult to criticize AppSumo or even AudioHero, because technically, they deliver on their promise. But the thing is, music isn't just about technology, it's also about emotions. With Epidemic Sound, I was able to create a real sound identity for my YouTube channel with varied and high-quality tracks. AudioHero is good for adding background music at -30dB and your voice on top, but it doesn't go beyond that. Let's say it's a stopgap solution... but it's nothing to write home about. Too bad! I was looking forward to stopping my subscription, but now I'll have to go back...

I'm having trouble giving AudioHero any sort of trouble over the slightly clunky UI and the slightly annoying playlist issues because everything else is such a great use of your time and money that it's more than easy to look past it. You get detailed invoices for your own recordkeeping each time you download a set of sounds or tracks, and you can even pull the STEMS - something I feel gets overlooked in the reviews, because this allows for so much more control and flexibility with complex projects. For larger teams, it may be a nuisance to buy multiple licenses, since this only covers one user - but for the individual, it's invaluable as a tool. The quality of the sounds and tracks are great and some are especially memorable. Absolute gem of a deal (they were also on Humble Bundle but only a small predetermined percent of their library was offered, not the entire growing catalog).

I really like this platform, and I'm happy with the package AppSumo offers. The quality of the audio tracks is excellent. The search function is convenient, and the customer support is excellent and fast. I recommend purchasing this product!
