Q: Can you explain more clearly how the licenses are managed and works in this deal, perhaps with example(s).

Are the license keys controlled via an account dashboard and can see what domain they are activated on etc? How does the transferring of licenses work? Are licenses more locked down if your using it for incremental backups as aposed to migrations etc? Thanks

A: Thank you for your questions. After activating the premium plugin, you'll get prompted to enter a license key, enter it, activate it, done. You can then deactivate the license key (to reduce the activation count by 1) to use it on another site.

For managing the license keys, we use Sellcodes.com. You're raising a good point - currently it's not possible for you to see an overview where your license keys have been activated. We'll work on that. However for now, it should also work quite well: you just deactivate license key whenever you don't need it anymore on a particular site. Once you've hit your activation count limit, you just reach out to us, we tell you where the license is still active, you tell us on which sites you don't need it anymore, and we'll deactivate it.

Does that answer your questions?

+1 to get a proper license management panel where we can see the activated ones and deactivate on a self service portal

If you deactivate a site, can the site be reactivated by someone else who doesn't have the activation code? On some plugins, the code is stored and automatically reapplied if code is reactivated, if plugin is reactivated, if plugin is deleted then re-installed.

Hi Steve, the activation code doesn't get automatically stored, but needs to be entered again. That's because an agency may want to use a plugin on a client's site temporarily (e.g., to perform a migration), and deactivate the license after that, without giving the client the option to use it again on that site. Does that make sense? :)
