Q: Hi, Thank you for bringing your app to Appsumo.
One question which you have twice evaded fully answering is regarding the restoration of websites without your plugin. I believe around 60% of the internet is powered by Linux servers. But you've chosen to use your own archive format SGBP and only offered extractors for windows and macOS. Andrea from Backup Guard suggested downloading a version of the SGBP extractor but this is for the macOS version not Linux (https://we.tl/t-AUX8dpetLC).
For Linux servers, we'll be vendor locked. We won't be able to restore our websites without your plugin.
1. Do you have any plans to make an extractor for Linux? And if so,
2. When do you realistically expect this to be completed.
Thanks!

Hi, Yes you can extract your backup .sgbp files(Linux hosting) on your Windows desktop using SGBP Extracter. I just backup my website(hosted on Linux hosting) and downloaded the backup and extracted it on my windows 7 using SGBP Extractor.
I stopped using Windows 10 years ago! I use a Linux laptop and desktop. I have no intention of using Windows just to extract a database archive.
Backup Guard, I'm the third person to ask this question. Do you have any intention to answer this question?
Hello,
We have a PHP version of our extractor, which you can download from the following URL:
https://backup-guard.com/tools/extractor
This is the only solution for Linux for now. But you can vote for the real Linux extractor task on our roadmap, and based on the number of votes we will have the feature as soon as possible.
