Q: Hi everybody, can I use Backupsheet also to move a website to a different domain?
Practical example:
I have a Joomla-Page in a subfolder on a Cloudways/Digitalocean-Hosting and want to move that one to Rootpal. It´s just a pain to manually download all files and the database and re-upload all of that stuff to Rootpal.
You already said you have a direct Cloudways/Digitalocean-Connection, so the oliest question is if I can choose certain folders, but that´s not a blocker.
But ... on Rootpal I don´t think you have a direct connection. So can I then add FTP and SQL-Data from Rootpal into Backupsheet and upload the backup to rootpal (different domain then before)?
All the best, Julian!
PS: I only transfer the website to rootpal as an archive. Cloudways is the way better Hosting-Provider, just wanted to mention that!

May 14, 2024A: Hi Julian. Thanks for the details. I see your use case, and I think it can be done using our Restore module(coming in a few days).
The restore module will allow you to push files & databases back to the primary origin and a different location as long as FTP/sFTP & database protocols are supported.
Let me know if I missed anything.
I’m in a similar situation where I want to backup my Rootpal for certain domains and emails.
Rootpal - Nextcloud/Plesk
I want to be able to back up and wipe my storage every time it hits 100gb so I can clear space and not have to upgrade 100gb every time.
I like this option to clean source directory. Can you please add it to our feedback app https://feedback.backupsheep.com/boards/feature-requests
