Q: Animated Clickable Ad in LinkedIn-Post?
I was tyring to add a created ad in LinkedIn, but none of the formats did what I wanted:
- Display and play the animated ad (includes music and movement)
- have the integrated button still clickable to let the viewer click "read more..." so he gets to my website
I guess it is not possible to have it all? I can either have a png, which is not transporting the entire message and link, or upload a video, which might not look good if the user resized it (and has no option of a clickable link either). Even with the preview.bannerboo.com/123456/ (or self hosted htmnl) link I could only paste the url and it would not show up on linkedin posts, only after the user clicks on the link and goes direktly to the ad.html
Did I miss an option that could work with all elements for a normal LinkedIn post?
Same problem with Facebook and co I guess?

Edited Feb 25, 2025A: Hello Cyber_Lawyer,
Thank you for your question.
Each ad network has its own technical specifications, making it challenging to use HTML formats universally.
For LinkedIn, their ad specifications (https://business.linkedin.com/marketing-solutions/success/ads-guide) do not support HTML ads. The available formats include images, documents, and MP4 videos. This means you can export your design as a video and upload it to LinkedIn. The platform enforces specific dimensions, ensuring the ad displays correctly without user resizing—except when resizing the entire browser window.
For Facebook, HTML ads are available in some cases (https://www.facebook.com/business/help/412951382532338), but not for all users. If this format is available in your Facebook account, you can use our 1-click export feature to generate the necessary code (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkpPElAiMns).
Regarding clickable links, most ad networks provide a dedicated field for adding a landing page URL. Even with HTML ads, the URL is typically not hardcoded but dynamically inserted by the ad platform itself.
Let me know if you need any further clarification!
